Need help potty training Hi everyone, This is my first time posting here.just foined tonight. I have had Prince Corkshire for about 2 1/2 months he is 5 months old, we were just getting the hang of going potty outside. Well here is the problem, a week and 1/2 ago I got a 9 month old female ( Princess Shayla) she has ben raised in a breeding kenned since birth (feet never touched the earth until I brought her to live with us) ever so sad! any way back to the problem Shayla is not cooperating with potty pads, or outside. Kenneling is not working either. I can take her from the kennel to potty pad or outside and wait for ever, she will hold it until my back is turned then squat. as long as I'm watching her she will not releive herself, nor will she go in the kennel. Now the real problem is that My little prince has decided that he nolonger has to follow the rules and is releaving himself everywhere also please can someone direct me to help. I attempted to hire a trainer and the first thing he wanted to do is put a choke chain arround my babies necks. I asked him if he knew that Yourkies were proned to tracial collaps, well I guess it goes without saying but I did not hire the trainer. Thank you Dee |
Hm I wonder if you take Shayla outside and turn away and when she squats turn right back and when she is done give her a treat... She might be shy. When Maxi was little I couldnt hold the giggle when he would go poo on the pad as he was making funny face. So he got all shy  After that he would just sneak out and go on the pad when I was not looking. They are such a smarty pants. After he got potty trained to go outside he was fine though. Choke chain? I am glad to hear you didnt hire that trainer. |
I think the trainer needs the choke chain . If anything I learned from this breed is "patience is a virtue ." |
