sleepy agression my 10 month old female (Trixi) gets real ornery at night once she has settled down for the night and is thinking about bed time. she never snaps at me but she will snap at my son when he goes to give her kisses good night or she will snap at my 6 month old male (Tug) if he still thinks he wants to play. its not a constant occurance and for the most part she will just leave and find a quiet corner in the house but other times she will get quite ornery. is there something i can do to help her understand that she cant be doing that and they arent hurting her. my dogs sleep outside in the garage so would it be best to when they start laying around thinking about bed time to just take them out at 8 pm? i like to still have them in with me after we put the boy to bed so that i can have my alone time with them but if she cant handle good night kisses she may just find herself in the garage at 8 which i am sure she would be more than happy doing. maybe kisses need to come earlier. i dont know any ideas? |

She got no respect for the boys so they should possiblly if old enough be the ones feeding and letting her out... they need to be asking her to sit or down or back or wait before she gets anything. If the boys are leaning over the dog to kiss good night two things one dogs do not kiss the way we do. Dogs think that is rude.. maybe a kiss on the hand and then p[at it on the side instead. The leaning over a dog is seen as a threat and rude as dogs putting a paw over the back of another dog is seen as rude by a dog. The ten month old is finding the 6 month old a rude and ill behaved brat and is not playful and rather be on her own.. Just being normal to her temperment. JL |
