My 10wk old baby won't poo on the puppy pad Hi everyone, we've had BAiley Jo since she was 7 weeks old & she has always peed on the puppy pad but we can't get her to poo on it. Something that adds to the issue is that she only goes at night when we are in bed. Does anyone have any suggestions on training her to poo on the pad???? When do they become fully potty trained?? |

Mine, were (trustable) trained at about 1 yr maybe even 1.5 yrs. Mind you we had very good months, and then regressions. They are about 4 y/o old now, and sometimes, they prefer the corner on the floor verses the pee pads. Also, 10 weeks is still a very young baby. Most breeders hold them until 12 weeks where they learn 'better potty' behavior as well as key socialization from Mother and Litermates - So you getting her at 7 weeks, she has missed out on that :( |
It took both mine longer to poo on the pads. They got the pee quickly. Mine did it by about 6-7 months. |
I kept Tricksie in a pen with her pads for a couple of months, that is all it took. |
Although mine goes outside or on pads in the garage in bad weather or night time, I have found that neither of mine would poo on the same pads as they pee on. I have had to keep separate pads in the garage. I always put two together in one place and two together in another spot. She may be trained by six months or before if you don't change your training regimen for her. |
maybe if you put one of her poo's on the pad so next time she goes to use it to pee on she will want to poo there too? Thats the only thing I can think of, but she is still VERY VERY young so try to be patient! :) |
