well i've had him 1 week today. he is doing so good with his pee pad training. he will pee and poo on it every time now. so i am so happy with him. BUT i had my newspaper laying on the floor and the lil booger peed on it. i couldn't help but laugh. i had to tell him no since it wasn't his pad but it was still funny. :D

awww .. what a smart guy... YAY!!!!! good job lucky! and mom.. did you specify WHICH paper he could pee on :p

Oh my he is sooo smart! Do you reward him for using the pad each time? We do our yorkie still, even though it's been since Feb, ha.

What you said about him using your newspaper reminded me of what my Elvis did. I had cleaned one of the bathrooms and had placed the rugs upside down on the carpet until I was thru mopping, but decided not to mop but to do it later on, so I just transferred the rugs, still upside down, back into the bathroom. Mind you, these rugs are white on the bottom...well, little Elvis thought he'd found a new pee pad AND some privacy too...I went back in there several days later to do the mopping job and lo and behold, Elvis had been using them as pee pads!:eek: Including poo too! It was petrified, LOL. Yikes!

yes we have been rewarding him when he uses the pee pad. i hadn't paid any attention when i heard him walking on the paper as i haven't used papers, just pee pads. well i looked down at him cause he was trying to get my attention and there was pee on my newspaper. he was trying to tell me he did good and wanted a treat. i have read that these guys will never cease to amaze us but i couldn't believe this one lol :D. he is developing such a personality. so glad i rescued him from that awful home!!! he's great, doesn't cry at night in his crate and is about 99% pee pad trained. he is so proud when he uses the pee pad. i guess we are doing good so far with him!

Well the little darling, that's what I think of the news too. He sounds like a winner, but don't get discouraged if he has a few set backs, I don't think Joey was 100% till about 8 months. I was told to ignor the accidents and praise the correct behavior. If you scold for accidents you could be setting yourself up for future problems, of another nature. You're doing great with him! Perfect name for him, he is Lucky to have found you.
