Training Advice - What should I do? When I leave Niles alone (whether it's for a few hours or a few minutes), he will go to the bathroom, I'm beginning to believe he holds it just incase I'm am going to leave him to walk outside or downstairs. He does go on the weewee pads even if he's going cause of separation. Since I'm still really in the weewee pad training stage, what should I do? Should I praise that he uses the pads regardless of the reason why? Does he even know why I'm praising him? I've been trying to give him commands to go to the bathroom, like so many suggest and do, but he refused to go to the bathroom... he seems to like to go to the bathroom when I'm not around. |
I always praise my girls everytime they use the pads or go outside they are potty train allready but I always keep telling them how good they are by doing it, so I will think is ok to praise everytine he goes, sorry I couldn't be more help:confused: |
Yes praise ever time but not over the top excited just a calm reassuring kind and sometimes take along a treat to give as a bonus surprise I like that so it keeps them guessing if you will give them one or not the next time and make it more interesting for them and likely to have them pee in the spot you like. Thanks for the tips, I just didn't know if he would even know what I'm talking about. He gets so excited to see me, I wondered if he thinks I'm just excited to see him *lol* I am excited to see him but I'm also excited to see him use the weewee pads. |
