Pooping in the house! I am a stay at home Mom and I take Krissie and the rest of the pack outside every 2 hours, and she has potty pads. She will go outside and urinate, but come inside and poop. I stay out with them a good 15 - 20 minutes. They pee, they play, no poop! They hold it until they get into the house! Any ideas? My DH is getting more frustrated than me. I just scoop it up and flush it. I also spray the area with an Orange Oxy Pet Odor spray that I purchase (BY THE GALLON) at Pet Smart. It is supposed to deter them from going in the same place. Oh yeah, she never goes in the same place! ???? Peace and Love, |
Have you ever paid attention to the times she's pooping? You need to take her out close to those times. My three are very regular....everyone poops first thing in the am, Reggie will usually need to go again after eating breakfast, Rams goes around 2. She and Reese will go around 5 when we get home. I'd say if you haven't pay attention to her schedule...you should. ;) Also make sure she walks during those times...walking stimulates their bowels. |
Mine do the same thing. I am trying to reinforce their training. |
i agree with BCHGIRL... as neurotic as this sounds, i wront down when jaxon, ate, slept and pooped/peed for a month. Once I got regular with taking him out, he got regular, but my regularity came from looking at what I had written down... a lil data analysis...thats all :) |
Canyon poops twice a day, in the a.m. around 6:30 or 7:00 and in the evening around 6 or 7:00. I just watch him like a hawk and when he starts doing the poop dance, I get him to the potty pad or I tell him potty, go potty and he runs to the pad himself. He's doing so good on the potty training, though I think the poop training is harder as they tend to want to hide when they poop. |
Mine do the same thing. I'll take them out for 20 minutes, and they might pee, but as soon as they come back in they poop. Sometimes they even pee. How do you stop this behavior? Would taking them for actual walks help? |
I agree that they have a poop schedule and you'll need to figure it out. Bailey is a once-a-day pooper - usually in the evening. I don't relax until she's done her business. She knows the difference between "go potty" and "go poop". In fact, just tonight, she hadn't done her business yet - so we went to the back yard. Bailey didn't want to go because she was still working on her bully stick. But I made her leave it in the house and we went outside. She quickly pee'd and wanted to come back in -but I said "gotta poop?" and yep, she ran off to poop (I scooped it up) - and then we went back in the house. She's still working on that bully stick. :) I'd say - that if they are pooping in the house, then they are not fully potty trained. Keep their area small, block all hiding places, watch 'em and continue training. They're smart and will learn if you're consistient and catch them in the act and then correct their mistakes. Good luck! |
All of mine go potty twice a day. I let them out into our fenced back yard and they just want to play with each other. They run, I sit on the patio and watch them for about 15 minutes. Maybe I should just stay out as long as it takes. They love the playtime. I can say "Potty time" and they run to the back door!:p I think I may start walking them on a leash twice a day and continue to let them out to play in the back yard every two or three hours. We have a very large fenced in area and there is hawks in our area. Krissie is only 3 lbs and I'm afraid that she would be prey, so I never leave them alone outside to play. Great information from everyone! Thanks - I will try everything... |
Geoffrey is the same way and it's driving me nuts. Always pees outside but loves to poop where she pleases. |
LuLu is doing the SAME thing:mad: I figured out her schedule for when she poops...the only problem is, the second time is in the middle of the night in her crate. She will wake me with a little whine to pee, but not to poop. We've tried putting her in her xpen at night, but she cries ALL night. She doesn't cry in her crate. If we don't watch her every second, she leaves us a prize somewhere in our kitchen. She's young, so we keep praising and giving treats when she does go on her pad. Hoping she'll eventually get it!! It seems like several of us are having the same problem. Good luck:exclaim: |
Derby is like clockwork....once in the morning and most of the time, once again at night (but not always). Jockey on the other hand is only 5 months and poops at night....like between midnight and 4am....ugh! He is on the same feeding schedule as Derby but still I have to get up during the night like 3 times to clean it up cuz he will poop once at midnight then again around 1:30am and then again around 3:30am. Seriously, how do I correct this and he is the same.....if he is in his crate he will poop in there, so I leave the crate door open and 2 of the 3 times he goes on the pee pad. Is there a way to change his poop schedule? |
:lol tears I am so sorry, but I have to laugh. I thought that I was the only one with this problem. And by the posts, it seems that it is more common than I thought. These little smarties are trying to outwit us. Someone surely has conquered this quest! Peace and Love, |
Unfortunately, mine will poop in the house if the grass is wet. She hates wet grass and won't stay there long enought to do what she needs to poop. But I agree with the replies above. If it is about the normal time that she usually poops, I make her stay outdoors and say "Let's go poop", and she usually does. :) |
poopy pupp im having the same problem :animal-pa |
I am joining the yorkie poop club ... same thing ..run , hide , poop , and run again . I am doing the data research on timing and finding the schedule of the little pooper . |
