I kinda wondered that myself...I always knew they needed a lot of sleep but at times I am home with them a lot and do not have the time to paly with them so they are lying around lightly snoozing and sometimes I feel that it is my fault for not playing with them. But I guess if they didn't need so much sleep and rest they would be playing with each other when I can't entertain them. I expect them to sleep when I am not at home but when you actually see it you start to wonder. My 2 are eating ,pooping and drinking water normally and are always in good spirts.:D so I guess they are ok. Tina |

yeah i often wondered this too.. i thought dogs should be walking around or something if no one plays with them but princess always snoozes too.. i guess its normal because i cant play with her all the time! she sleeps a lot too.. on days where i dont have to get up early she can sleep like 10 hours with me! and she still naps throughout the day if i dont play with her  |

Sorry, that's off topic. umm Scooter sleeps a lot. |
Yes, puppies sleep a lot . It is ok though. My 5 month old Suzi has spurts of energy, then flops down to rest . :aimeeyork |
Thank-you! Thank-you for posting this thread. I've felt exactly the same way. As I type this, Pixel is curled up in a little ball in my arm! She sleeps in my bed at night, though she tends to wake up earliest on my days off! During the day, she snoozes several times in several different areas. I play with her as much as I can, but she returns to the couch when I do housework or come online. I've felt very guilty about that, thinking she was sad because I wasn't giving her 100% attention. I've had big dogs before, and am used to them sleeping a lot, but thought little dogs weren't quite the same. Thanks, everybody, for your answers here. :) |
