Barking in the car when left alone. How do I get Bridget to stop barking when left alone in the car. It is NOT hot weather here, so that is not the problem. She misses me and watches the door I have entered, and continuously barks. (I am watching her from inside) It doesn't bother me as much as it bothers others. They tell me about my dog barking as if something is wrong. Obviously they do not know how high strung this breed is. IS it possible to get her to stop barking when she is alone? DrMom |
I dont know how to stop the barking but I wouldnt leave her in a car even in good weather. I have heard of instances of people breaking into cars and taking the yorkie. |
Oh my gracious, I would never leave Mufasa in a car by himself under any conditions. |
I was in a Target in a very nice area and when I came out there were police at a care and a lady crying and screamng. Someone broke into her car and took her two Yorkies! She said she was only gone for a minute to return something! I don't know the outcome but felt so sorry for her....:( I would never take a chance. |

I agree. You must be crazy to leave her alone in the car. You're very lucky someone hasn't taken her yet. Please don't do that anymore. When I see dogs left in cars, if it's the least bit warm, I call the police. She's barking, because she doesn't want to be left alone in the car. She's probably scared, poor baby! It's a big, scary world out there if you're a little yorkie! I feel sorry for your little girl that you think so little of her! :( |
Honestly I have no idea. I know when I leave pebbles alone within the house, she barks like shes dying. You are supposed to just ignore it. She'd probably freak out in a car though. It is illegal in the state of florida to leave your dog in the car so I havent seen it. I would imagine she is just missing you though and not liking the strange place being all alone. Try sneaking her in the store, in a carry bag if she is small enough.. or try leaving her at home. It is far safter for her there. In the car she can be stolen, or she could not be getting enough fresh air to be comfortable |

I'm sorry but I agree with the others. The only solution to this= dont leave her in the car!! It doesn't matter the weather, you shouldn't just leave her confined to a car. Just leave her home if you are going somewhere dogs are not allowed. I don't blame her for barking, I would not want to be left in the car and seeing my owner walk away and thinking "When is she coming back??" Poor girl. Maybe it's better that she barks...she's telling you "I don't like this." |
You know, I almost feel like this is some kind of joke to get everyone riled up. You know everyone is gonna say not to leave the dog in the car. And to say that this breed is "high strung?" This seems fake... |
i NEVER leave mine in the car.. :thumbdown |
