Help!!! Biting the back of my ankles My 4 month old baby girl keeps biting the back of my ankles everytime I walk. When I tell her NO, she just barks and continues biting at the back of my ankles causing them to bleed. I even tried different shoes thinking that was the problem. |
Some people on YT have suggested using bitter spray.. like Bitter Apple Spray you can get from a pet store that helps deter pets from chewing on things. I haven't tried it myself- I ordered it on-line and haven't gotten it yet. My pup likes to bite fingers and toes so whenever I'm standing in the bathroom putting on my make-up, he bites really hard on my big toe! I think he's just playing, but it really hurts! Oh- and whenever I say "no" he just doesn't understand what it means apparently and keeps on biting... Good luck! If anyone out there has some suggestions I could use some too. |
When she starts this just stop. Don't move and don't look at her or say a word. When she goes away, start walking again. If she starts biting, stop walking. Pretty soon she will find this isn't a fun game at all. |
LOL....KiKi was an ankle biter and toes too for a bit!!! LOL..she was always after my sons "long" toes!!! This too will pass! |
The best thing I have found with my 11 wk old that does this is to give her a little squirt on her back with a spray bottle. You might have to carry it around on your belt loop. Mine does this when she is excited after we come home from work, but she stops when I squirt her. The squirt bottle also worked well with my sisters dog who barked alot. |

Thanks for all you help. I think I will try the squirt bottle and see how that goes. I know she doesn't realize that she is actually hurting me. I was thinking once the baby teeth came out it would pass. Thanks again |
Mariah used to do this too when she was younger....especially with my daughter. We would stop walking, bend down and say NO. Eventually she learned that we didn't like it and it wasn't a game and she has completely stopped! |
