Peeing beside food bowl.....
 
Ok, Garrett is almost 6 months, and after trying pee pads only [not very successful], I started taking him outside and crating him overnight. He's doing really well, I just have to be VERY diligent. We have had very few accidents.

However......here's my problem - I cannot get him to stop sprinkling right BESIDE HIS FOOD BOWL!!!! :mad::mad::mad: He also sprinkles beside my other dog's bowl. I guess it's marking, cause it's usually only a few drops of pee, and even if he just came in. Why does he do this :confused:. I thought they wouldn't do that near their food source.

I've tried wiping the area with bleach or vinegar, to get rid of the urine scent, but he keeps doing it.

Help..............:hands:

i suggest using a belly band so he won't dribble...hehe..other than that i don't know what to say...good luck!

I thought about that, but it's the only place he does it, and not every day, so I want to find a way to just make him stop with using a prop, u kno wat I mean:confused:

i kno he's being diliberate too, cause if he's around wen i see it, or i catch him doing it, i get the little sad face-head bowed-ears back look :embarasse

hehe...maybe he still smells the scent...i would use a belly band to aid the training to stop him.

Oh gosh, I meant to say "make him stop WITHOUT using a prop", but you're right, I may try the belly bands for a while and see.

I googled around a little bit and found others who have had similar problems with other breeds. One of the obvious questions was, "Is he neutered?"

One response that made sense to me was to pick up the food and water dishes immediately after eating. If the marking is too quick, try cutting the meals in half. If there's no marking, give the second half, then remove the dishes.

And keep up with the vinegar cleaning. That should help.

No he isn't neutured.

I will def try this technique, it makes sense.

LOL, I keep a bottle of vinegar and water handy.
