the crate how can i get my new puppy to like her crate? she seems to bark and whine alot when shes in it.....also she goes everywhere except her wee pads......she wont go on them she just plays with them and pulls them from one end of the room to the next |
Have you tried to make the crate appeared like a pleasant thing for the little one and not like a jail where he or she cannot escape ? Grandma is placing a little towel and a toy in the crate , let the pup sniff it , going in and out , the first time she close the door , she let it a little open and allow the pup to open it if he or she want . |
Ebony sleeps fine right from day one in the crate and although we have only had her a week its great untill we put her in it during the day so this morning we put her in the crate in the same room as us and she howled for bout half hour decided she was too tired to argue anymore and went to sleep as soon as she woke took her to the toilet and put her in her crate she whined for bout 5 mins then was allowed out to play once she went quite (she was quite for bout a min before i let her out before she started again) and threw her a mini party for being so good! she played for ages then she peed on the carpet no problem i picked her up sturn no and put her in the garden for 5 mins she peed again (outside) so threw another party for her brought her in and put her back in the crate now she did a very quite whimper for about 2 maybe 3 mins tops and went to sleep did the whole toilet and play routine again and since then she has been put back into her crate (not for being naughty) but just to keep up with it and not a sound from her she just lays down and goes straight to sleep and she is only 9 wks old if she learnt that in one day imagine what else she could do! I know i have gone on a bit but i hope this at least helps a little she was the most recent example i could use oh and she dont like puppy pads either she much prefers the carpet or garden good luck x x x |
