fallen of the bandwagon my 13 week puppy has been doing absolutely great with the pee pee pads until yesterday, he would have a few little accidents, but mostly was good about using it. Then yesterday he just quit using the pad and went on the bathroom floor and today I have been putting him in his crate and taking him to the bathroom every hour for about 15 minutes and he'll ignore the pad and just lay on the floor. He hasn't gone to the bathroom in 9 hours, but he's drinking an eating just the same as before. whats going on? |
Potty troubles I once heard that with Yorkies and potty training you can take one step forward and two steps back. It sounds like that is what is happening. My seven month old Yorkie has been doing great about not going to the bathroom in the house, however, there has been a few days in a row where he has accidents in the house, but then he does fine for a while. I hope this helps...Good luck, hang in there! Steph :) |
Uh-oh! That is what I'm afraid will happen to Kacee, but so far so good! I'll worry about that when the time comes, I guess... |
This happened to me, I remember writing about it here. Chances are that your puppy IS going pee somewhere!!! When it happened to me I did the whole retrain in hte crate thing and it did work. Patience and consistency are key with these little guys. |
Ok, Tucker is going to spend his whole life in diapers! He would be perfect if not for the potty training. He is outside and he goes. Then he comes in and he goes. The only 2 places he never goes are the crate and my bed. Maybe he'll have to spend his life on my bed? What do you think? |

Mac is finally trained at 1 year. Mellie started out great and just kept back sliding. She goes out when Mac goes out but thinks it's play time. She also thinks the wee wee pads are toys and just loves to play with them. Yesterday she decided to take a nap on it. I figure someday she'll get the hang of this thing. |
TJ and Roxy both have good days and then bad days. TJ is 6 months and Roxy is 8 months. They only are 'trained' inside (for now). They too think that the wee wee pads are toys. I had gone through 3 separate incidents of coming home from work and finding the wee wee pads thorn to pieces. TJ even pooped out blue plastic. I tried the washable piddle pads but once they are peed on the whole thing is pretty much wet and the princess and prince refused to pee on it again, so I had piddle puddles all over. So then, I decided to get the dog little box and I put the wee wee pad inside. THIS WORKS GREAT! I needed to get a few b/c they stay in a room upstairs while I am at work and then I needed 2 downstairs. (I refuse to carry it up and down and the dowstairs is kinda big so I need to have one at either ends). But those dog litters boxes are about $20 a piece. I got one but I also got the clear small/shallow rubber made (wrapping paper) tubs. THEY WORK GREAT. I have to cut the wee wee pad in half for it to fit, but once they are peed on 2x I replace it. Roxy goes in and out, TJ on the other hand is a bugger. He goes in and out of the dog litter box (I think b/c it has a shallow spot in the front to go in and out), but the rubbermade tubs are a different story...Sometimes he goes all the way in. Sometimes he puts his front legs in and either pees down the inside of the tub or just outside the tub. Other times he has his 2 front legs outside the tub, one back leg inside the tub and the other back proped ontop of the tub and pees. He is just too much! Roxy is also a neverous pee-er. I wish I could stop that! Any ideas? |
Does anyone else have this problem? My Olivia won't go outside if it rains. In fact she won't go outside if it rains one town over. We have a doggie door so she can go out whenever she pleases. She is 2 yrs. old. Her little sister is 4 mo. old and seems to feel the same way about it. I'm not talking about going out in the actual rainstorm, I don't want that. I'm talking about going out if it has rained and the patio and yard are wet. I have tried to paper/pad train her for those times, but have not been successfull. Has anyone tried the little booties? Thanks for any advise |
Do you have an attached garage? I trained Muffin and Kacee to use the pee pads in the garage at night and in bad weather, but since yours aren't pad trained I don't know what else to suggest. If a person worked and had an attached garage, they could put in a doggie door and know the little darlings :p are safe... |
Do the diapers really work? Paisley tends to "mark" when he is in other peoples homes (like my moms, my inlaws, my friends) and I don;t want him to wear out his welcome....which he can't becuase he is so darn cute!!! Let me know. thanks! Steph :dog: |
