in need of help. i have had him for about a month now, and we've been trying to potty train, he started out horrible, but he got better, and for about a week or so, he was doing really good, only peeing in the house a couple times. but now he is getting Alot worse, every morning he poos in his crate, and i have downsized it, but he still doesnt seem to care, it just doesnt bother him, he stays in his crate, while im at work during the day, and i come home every few hours to take him out, but when we go outside, he doesnt use it. in the afternoon, we go out for 2 or 3 hours at a time and he wont do anything, until we go inside, then he waits for me to turn my head , and he uses the bathroom in the house. i need some advice Please!:( |
Maybe he is rebelling against the crate My yorkie use to do that too, it seemed as long as she wasn't in the crate she would potty where she was suppose to but if I had to go somewhere and I lock her up in her crate when I come back there is poop in her crate and when I let her out instead of going to potty on the potty where she is suppose to go she potty's on my floor as if to say she is pissed off at me for locking her up, I don't lock her up no more and since I haven't had a problem with her, but your going to need more than just a month to train him, and if you happen to see him getting in position to potty you stop him either spray him with a water bottle or shake a can with pennies to get his attention and stop him from pottying in the house then pick him up and kindly escort him outside to do his thing, of course you have to have patients and give him time to get used to pottying outside, he may use the potty right away seeing how he was ready to use it in your house before you got his attention or he may hold it, if he holds it just stay outside with him until you see him use the potty or take him on a walk, some dogs do better with potty training if they are walking. |
