seeking revenge? my 11month girl, will not stop peeing in the house. ive looked everywhere and clearly this is not an unknown issue. She wakes me up at 6am and we go out and pee (sometimes poop) i let her out every about every 2 hours and she has made alot of progress, but she still poops alot inside and the other day she peed on the couch, which is very unusual. This dog is my baby, so she gets toted around alot, between my own house and my boyfriends house. so i didnt know if this would hinder her from peeing outside everytime. my boytfriends mom thinks she peed on the couch bc i was at work (even though people were home) she cries alot while im gone, and looks out the windows more. i also notice that when i take her to familiar places she will not pee. shell hold it til she cant hold it no more, which usually results in her peeing in a store, or some unsuspecting friends home. (great.) she has taken and graduated beginner training at petsmart, she learns very easily but not housetraining. the trainer there said to teach her to ring a bell when she needs to go (yea right) is she peeing bc im not home? |
Pee Problem Lets start at the beginning here and figure out whats going on- so the first thing i need to know since she is 11 months old is - has she been spayed ? the answer to that may help shed some light on this. |
no actually shes not. she went into heat 2 weeks before she was supposed to go into the vet. they told me to wait 3 months before having surgury to let the swelling and all that go down. so shes going at the end of this month. |
Well I am certainly not "the dog whisperer" :D and surely don't mean to imply that i have knowledge - just years of experience and this is what i have found - I am sure other breeders know what i am thinking here. You never really know when they will come in heat the first time and its been my experience that you can't be positive of that second time either - If you keep them intact you can start to figure out a cycle - usually approximately every 6 months - Now that being said - I would suspect your girl is on a short cycle right now and she is marking ( yes girls mark too !! ) and doing all this strange stuff as the hormones keep changing in her body. Now i am not saying that spaying it the answer to house breaking  But i have found that when they are not spayed - its a lot harder to do. I am sure you will get lots more ideas and help here on YT but i would move up that spay date if it were me and get that done and eliminate that possibility. Good luck as i know how maddening it can be to get one totally potty trained - Hope some one else comes up with other possible answers too. |
thank you! thats a big help! |
