pee pad holder in petsmart or Wizdog works hello, you can try to use a Pee pad holder so your puppy can't play with it. In petsmart there are two different type one cost around $15 and other one cost $30 (like a tray). I got both, but i realized i spent a lot of money for pee pad and the weather is too cold for my puppy. So i spent $50 for dogwiz and use newspaper instead. It saved alot of money. But hehee...my puppy need to learn how to walk her wizdog. At first she was very scared but now she is fine. |
Washable Pee Pads I'm getting a 9 month old next Friday and the breeder says he does really well with the pads. I was hoping to also get him to go outside as well so that I didn't have to use the pads as much. My question is how many of the washable ones should I buy from Blue Sky Yorkies? |
They have pad holders or trays at PetSmart, but I have never tried them. I put a pad in a doggy litter box. The pads I use have adhesive strips, and they stick really well to it. I don't have any problems, and it's very easy to keep clean. |
I had changed brands and Cash did his best to destroy them. I went back to the more expensive ones and he leaves them alone... He is not called Cash for nothing:yelrotflm |
I got the plastic tray holder from petsmart and it works great no leaks and it makes sure that Faith doesn't pee on the edge and miss with the lip on the tray she knows to step all the way on the pad. |
I have the same problem with my yorkie, she loves to drag them around the house right before she rips them up. |
My dogs don't play with it, but the cat does! Sometimes I get to the pad and it's strewn all over the place - folded up on itself as if the cat is trying to BURY the goods for the dogs! I try to pick up after them asap, but if he beats me to it, pads are flying! |
Pee pads Our pups tend to shred the pee pads as well. Why they think they taste good I have no idea! I get washable pads now. Hospital pads work great, but I also use the little receiving blankets that you can get in a four pack at target. I make some thicker using absorbent material and sew the edges with an overlock stitch. They come out soft and wash easily in the washing machine. (separate from family clothing of course:p) The pups don't shred them and I don't have a big mess to clean up! Carie |

It depends on how often you want to wash. With only one dog the pad could stay down maybe two days or so before you would need to wash it (barring any bad accidents). So if you got four pads you could probably get by with washing once a week and still have one down while you were washing. I have three girls using one pad and I change it every day, so I need at least eight. |
