hi , I am using the shaker can for when he barks BUT he barks at it ....defeats the purpose for it. but he is doing a little better on the biting. he is only 11 weeks. |
4 things Hey i no now way an experence dog traniner but when our dog got nippy we did four things. 1) :DWe use bitter apple favor on our hands to create a bad taste for him. 2):DWe kept a mist spray bottle near by to thing when he bit us(only when we could correct him right on the spot) 3):Dwe also made to loud "ouch" sound and stop playin or looking at him untill he sat down. *we say ouch instead of saying no because we say it alot even when were nornaly talking and dont want to confuse him. 4) :Dwe try to just read the signs. if think he getting to routy when were playing with him we just back off now. and try again later good luck |
Been there..Still there!!! Aiden loves to play with my older dog, and roughly. They are both small pups and you'd think they were big,if you just herad the noise the two of the make. If I notice him bitting really hard and agressive,I kepp introducing his soft shem bone. The important thing the vet told me is let them know who's "BOSS" :rolleyes:It take consistancy and patience. The teething really makes a difference I've found. :)Good Luck |
I had a chuckle when I read the posting about using a bottle with coins in it to deter behavior. Our little guy is just over 4.5 months and nips quite a bit. We tried the bottle with stuff inside to make a loud sound. He freaking loves it! In our house if we shake a bottle with coins or whatever inside he will run from wherever he is in the house and want it. One day he got the bottle and he tore the bottle apart within 15 mins! So there went that idea for us. We are working on the nipping by saying no then ignoring and if that doesnt work he gets a time out. Timeouts have worked for accidents in the home as well as humping. Just hang in there, he will get the message soon. |
