Behavioral Specialist in Austin, TX? Hi, Anyone know of a good behavioral specialist for doggies in Austin, TX or the surrounding area? I have been trying to work with Maggie on her separation anxiety issues (obsessive barking/howling when I leave the house) for the last 6 weeks. I am not making any real progress and I don't really want to resort to meds or some sort of device (like barking collar or those alarm things). I want to make sure I am making the right corrective measures and not making her anxiety worse. I have tried kong, special toys, radio/tv, covering the crate, not making a big deal out of coming/going, making her sit/stay and then pet her/feed her/play with her, exercise, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I want her to be happy :) Rita |
I don't know if they address specific behavioral issues...but there is a place on 290, in Dripping Springs, called Stay & Play and I know that they offer classes and I believe that they do have trainers that work one on one with clients. You could call and ask them...couldn't hurt, they might can give you a referral if they don't do it themselves. Good luck!!! |
HI, I have 4 dogs, a labradoodle who is almost a year, two chi mixes and my yorkie---I use Tao of the Dog--Ray is great---he comes to your house--he has helped with the jumping up --that is the labradoodle--the incessant barking--the yorkie and we are learning to come when called every single time. I have another appointment with him next week--I know you will be pleased. Tell him Barb sent you! |
:D Thanks so much for the info from the both of you! I will look into them. |
