My furbutts have fresh water available 24/7. It never interferred with potty training. |
Mine have water available all the time. They only really drink it when they eat or after playing. If you want to reduce his water in take, instead of keeping a bowl of water down all the time, keep the bowl down but put ice cubes in it. This way he will get enough water to stay hydrated as the cubes melt but he is not drinking an excess amount of it. |
I think if your at home, have a completely fenced yard and have a doggie door it's easy to leave down the water so they can drink all day. But for someone like me that has none of the above it's not a good option when I am trying to potty train. I found that mine drink when they eat so it's easiest to put it down for them at certain times and then continuously walk them. This worked great for me when potty training lulu...she was trained very early and would not do a thing in the house. I am trying to follow the same pattern with Toby and Zoey. Zoey is being something else and was almost 90% trained but with the addition of Toby she is being very bad. He is small so he has time yet. |
Mine have fresh water available at all times, and it's always been that way, even when we were potty training. |
Even though the little warts are sometimes hard to potty train I always leave 2 bowls of filtered water out in the laundry room and one in the kitchen. Even when Kayla was little and crated we gave her a little water bottle. I just don't believe in withholding water. To each his own I guess but thats just my opinion. Good luck with that new baby. |
By law in most states and provinces fresh water must be avalible at all times. JL |
Spike has water available 24/7. |
I too, leave water down 24/7. |
I leave water out at all times. I tried to do a "water" poll the other day but couldn't figure out how to do a poll. I would like to know what water you give your babies. 1. city tap 2. bottled 3. filtered fridge 4. other (wells etc.) Is filtered water from the fridge just as good as bottled water? I don't buy bottled water because I'm unable to lift. |
