Marking! So we have accomplished potty training. Now.. at 7 months old we have begun to mark. He is the only male of 4. I have used Urine gone on his favortie spots, but how to you put a stop to this. We will be neutered in about a month, but i'm scared he won't stop. Any suggestions? |
sorry I have no advice, Bobby has just recently started doing this too, last night I found him marking the side of my BED!! I plan on neutering him too, he is 9 months. I hope it stops after he gets fixed. |
Hi, Try to confine the pups to the room you are in, they are still too young to give free roam. Have a coffee can with a few coins in it and watch them like a hawk the min. they go to lift the leg shake the can this will distract them and soon they will associate the lifting in the house with the unpleasant noise. The other option is to keep them leashed to you while in the house, they do not have far to go thus not allowing them to mark. |
Put a belly band on him untill you have him neutered:) |
I'm in the same boat as you are too! Our little Jamie's over 5 months now but he's not completely ready to get neutered. We'll definitely try some of those ideas, the going everywhere is driving me crazy! |
Any reason you can't neuter him right away? It's best to do it before they even start (before six months), but since he has started marking, the sooner you get it done the better. |
Belly bands work wonders for saving your house. |
Belly bands are the BEST!!! They are our friend! lol |
Do you know of a good place to buy the Belly bands? |
Right here! Yorkietalk members sell a wide variety of belly bands. It's so weird, my Truffles has never had this problem. I got him neutered the second he turned 6 months. I use a belly band on him once in awhile though just in case of accidents. I also try to bring one with me when we visit others just in case. :) |
