About Crate Training Whenever we put Elvis in his crate, he begins to holler. Loudly. What do you guys recommend? Do you go out of the room, turn on a radio to drown him out? It tugs at my heart strings to have him so unhappy. :( |
There are lots of threads on here about it ... When I brought Dim Sum home he was about 4 months old. I put him in the crate and he cried the first 4 nights. I had to use ear plugs and just ignore him. I also had to wake up every 4 hours or so just to let him out as they are not good at holding their bladders at that age. I did put a ticking clock by his crate and an old shirt of mine inside as well as his teddy outside to look at. It seemed to help. After about a week he was fine and now stays in there from 11pm until 8am quietly. He also goes in by himself when its time for bed. I guess the general rule is, put them in and ignore them when they cry. They will eventually get over it. |
Yes yes yes ignore him! If you go and get him out, he'll learn that barking will get him everything he wants! :) The first couple of days are the hardest, but eventually he'll stop. Good luck. |
Is it normal for 2 siblings to fight and get aggressive at times I just got two female yorkies at 7 weeks old:aimeeyork :aimeeyork They are adorable they share the same pen. But at times they get very aggressive with each other and they bite and attack each other.:confused: Should I tolerate this or should I stop it. I dont want them to get that way with each other unless its normal and it will pass. Or should I put a stop to it and how would I do that???? |

Welcome to YT! |
We have been putting Miley in the laundry room at night and when we are gone, we used a gate and blocked her off in a section and she hasn't hollered at all, she goes to sleep and sleeps all night. Well yesterday I bought a pen and last night at bedtime we put her in it and she hollered so we put her back in the area in the laundry room since she is more used to that area and she hollered a little and then was quiet all night. I am hoping she will be fine tonight in her pen but if not, we will put her in the laundry room. We have 2 kids (9 & 7) so if she is hollering, it is distracting to them and they can't sleep, so we have to do what we have to so she won't holler. |
