Teaching Tricks A previous thread made me wonder what tricks have you taught your babies? Kobi does "sit" and "bang bang" which is the same as play dead. How about you all. What do they do and how did you teach them? |
Coby does all the sit, down, stay, etc. stuff. Not really tricks, but he knows "Go get your toy" and "Night night" and of course "Wanna go bye-bye?" But he does know "gimme a kiss" too. And it's funny because it's not just a lick. It's more of a "human" type kiss. Cute! I love the "bang bang". How did you teach that? |
Ariel knows sit, down, & speak so far. I should have taught come & stay before speak though, but it's so cute :D |
The "bang bang" was so easy! I taught it to him in about 15 min! No joke! I never realized how smart these dogs are! I started off by telling him to sit and then when he did that and I had his attention I pointed at him and said "bang bang" and gentley pushed him over on his side. After several times of me doing that he started falling over on his own!!!! Its the cutest thing Ive ever seen!!! Only now Ive got to work some more on just "sit" because he want to just fall over when I say sit!! But I think its pretty good for 3 months old! |

Brewser doesn't really do any "tricks" but she knows "police get down" for when we are in the car and she is driving! And she knows the difference between "mouse" and "gopher"- for "mouse" she scans the ground and corners and for "gopher" she runs and sticks her head in the closest hole. Oh and she knows "stay close" and "quick uppy" and of course "brush your hair" and "put your jacket on"! |

Give howdy is giving paw... I wanted to teach German "gib foos" but he would not do that. Walkies is walking on the rear legs like a person... |
:D LeRoy sits, down and roll over---now when I tell him down he automatically rolls over!! Guess we need more work:confused:  :animal36 |

I have the same problem as another poster...when she gets really excited she won't just "lay down" she just starts rolling! It's so cute though! I really want to teach her to cover her eyes when we say "are you shy?". I read to put tape on their nose and when they try to take it off and cover their eyes you repeat "are you shy?" and give treats....but I couldn't get it to work. Any ideas on how to teach this? |
pebbles doesnt know that much cool stuff yet but she knows, come, sit, outside? (backyard), sit pretty, gimme kissy, go potty, go poop, go to sleep, lets brush your hair/lets make you pretty, out (leave the room), no (i rarely say no, so when i do she looks so startled lol), fetch and her "getting dressed commands" ("lets get dressed," over the head, lets do your arm, now your legs). she also knows that tummy means her stomach. we are working on lay, and then i think i will teach her bang bang |
