sounds like you DEFINITLY need to crate them at night... it will suck the first few tnights but they will learn to hold it or cry and wake you up to go outside. They each need to be in their own crate and you need to stuff the back of the crate with blankets so they only have enough room to turn around and lay down. they won't want to pee/poop where they lay so they will wake you up at night to let you know they need out. As the weeks go on they will be able to hold it longer and longer until they can go all night. |

I would also buy a blacklight, an enzyme cleaner, and get access to a carpet shampooer so that you can start over from scratch. If the carpet still smells like potty, they'll continue to go there. |

All 8 of mine sleep in their little crates at night. Carly puts herself to bed when she's done and all you have to tell Connor is to crate up and he's off to bed. Think of it as their own little room, their safe haven. Mine start spending the night in a crate when they are 10 weeks old. At first they share the crate with their mom in the puppy pen and than they begin to sleep in their own crate before they go to their new homes. |

I feel your pain! Zoe was completely potty trained but regressed when Peppee came. He has peed & pooped on the carpet. Then he peed on my blankets so it was no more sleeping with mom & dad. I felt bad for Peppee, not wanting him to have to sleep alone so I started letting Zoe and Peppee share a crate at night. I often wonder if they will ever be completely potty trained. I hate to see them ruining my carpets, (all are fairly new but one room):thumbdown |
Crate training is the best option for results..I have done it with every dog Ive ever had with GREAT success!! Good luck!! Dawn |
I agree with everyone else. Zoe sleeps in her crate at night. I say, come on Zoe time for nite nite and she goes right in. And she never ever has an accident in it. Now during the day is a different story. She was doing wonderful until we got snow and she just doesn't like to go out when the weather is real cold or wet so that's been a challenge. I've actually had a diaper on her the last two days and that's been working so far. Wish me luck! |
I have had Roxie for a month and she is 5 1/2 months old. I made the mistake of not crating her enough whern she first came home and for 2 weeks we had accidents everywhere. Now when I can't watch her, and she hasn't peed on the pad in the last hour or so she goes in the crate. She even goes in there if I am going into the front of the house for a minute. Usually she will come out and go on the pad. SO in 2 weeks of doing this she has started to use the pads on her own when she doesn't know I am watching her or if it has been awhile I say go potty on the pad and she goes most of the time. We still have occassional accidents but not many. I honestly thought their was something wrong with her mentally at first she just didn't get the idea of pottying on the pads, even though the others were using it to. I know I still have a ways to go but I am so less frustrated. So hang in there they eventually get it. |
