wizdog indoor training product hi there! does anyone here have experience (good or bad) with the wizdog indoor potty training product? i've been to their website, but i don't want to spend $40 on something without getting testimonials first... i'm trying to train Kash (11 weeks old tomorrow) to go to the bathroom outside, but when it's raining, he just won't do it outside. so, i'm looking for something he can go to the bathroom on inside the house (but not on the carpet). i've tried the regular pee pads, but he likes to play with all cloth-like materials, so when i put one down on the floor, he just bites the pad, drags it around, and "kills" it. i also confine him to the kitchen during the day (with a potty break at lunch), so it would be good to have something for him to put his accidents on. lol. for those of you who might not know what wizdog is, here's the website: www.wizdog.com. anyway, if anyone's tried this, please share your experience! Thanks! |
2 Attachment(s) I have it. I got it for less money on eBay. But my doggy did not like walking on the grid, it must have hurt her feet. So I just use it as a tray to hold the piddle pad. You can save money by simply buying a tray at DrsFoster&Smith. It will do the same thing. |
Have you actually tried the washable cloth potty pads?? I know that some have good success with the Wiz Dog, but most of the reviews I have read are negative. |
Have It-Use It We have it and Johnny uses it but mostly for poop when he forgets to tell us he needs to go out. Today, the snow goes up to his belly and he can't figure out how to squat to poop so he used the wiz-dog. The grate doesn't seem to bother him. I got it on eBay also. :aimeeyork |
I got one for Max but he started doing his business on the floor instead:( he would not walk on the grate at all. I ended up selling it. |
Potty Pads I started with the disposable pads, but Emmy would just shred them. I even tried buying a frame that keeps them more secure. Still she shredded. Now I am using the cloth pads. I ordered them online for a lot cheaper price than they sell them at Petsmart. I like them a lot. She is using them consistently. She has learned to do both...go outside and use the pads. I wash a load of them every two days. It works out great! Mozart, my 10 year old yorkie, is only trained to go outside. The thing I like about using the pads is that you do not have to worry as much if you are delayed one day and can't get to them quite as quickly as you usually do. Also, Emmy is only 4.5 lbs, so there are times when she wants to go during the night. She just jumps out of bed uses the pad and jumps right back in. It has worked well so far. |
We use the disposable potty pads as well. I purchase mine from http:/www.valethics.com - they are not very pretty but are very reasonably prices and serviceable. If you want pretty,a couple of our members here make some very nice decorative ones. |
