Urination during times, when the owner is away, could be a symptom of separation anxiety. A trainer recommended DAP diffusers for this purpose. The diffuser sprays out phermones that keep the dog happy and well adjusted. (I have not tried it, so don't know if it works, but others that have tried it will be able to let you know) Quote:

They are not about "revenge" "get even" or "punishment". It more than likely is a training issue or bad habits developed while living with your son. Being around your other dogs is good for loneliness, but contributes nothing towards housebreaking your puppy.
If you want your dog to be housebroken, you will have to take measures to ensure that it gets done. either crate or confine; make sure that you take the puppy out yourself instead of sending the puppy outside on it's own with the other dogs, ect. (of course you could be doing all this, not sure, and that is good. I would have to say keep up the good work then.)
Eventually, she will catch on and understand outside is the only place for elimination. Right now she has not been taught that the entire house is her "den" and there is NO where in it that she is allowed to go. |
