Toe biter... Okay I am wondering how I can get Bella to stop this toe biting behavior. She is fine otherwise, but when anyone gets up and starts walking she runs after us and nips and bites at our toes and feet and sometimes it can really hurt...I have responded to her by saying "no bite" everytime she does it and it is not doing any good. I really need help with this as when family or friends come over she does the same with them and I really do not want her to hurt anyone or me anymore, it is unacceptable...anyone have any insight on this or advice on getting her to stop this toe biting... Thanks, Christina |
Boy do I remember the toe biting stage. What we did was spray bitter apple on Our feet and after awhile he just quit biting them. Even when we didnt have it on I think he thought they were still going to taste that way |
can you spray that on socks too? I may have to invest in this stuff...thanks for the recommendation;) |
I quess so if it works on your skin I dont know why it wouldnt on socks |
sounds good, I will pick up some of this and give it a try, thanks again! Quote:

I have the same problem with Scrappy! It's really bad with my kids... they think it is funny to tease him with their feet, but then he starts to really nip at them and they get all upset. (No one has actually been hurt or anything.) I was also thinking about trying the can thing - a can filled with rocks or coins that you shake at the pup whenever they display bad behavior (normally used for barkers I think?). But I'm afraid it would be hard to have in the right place at the right time... As for myself, when I am playing with Scrappy with toys - sometimes he'll get me on the hand. Whenever he does - I tap him on the nose and tell him NO! OW! No biting! So he doesn't bite at me much any more... he'll have his teeth almost touching my skin, then he'll pull away by himself. I don't want to teach my kids to do this though, because I'm afraid they will be too vigorous in their nose-tapping! Good luck, let us know if you find something that works really well! |
