How do you get a hyper dog to react to training? How can I get Bijou my little over hyper fur ball to react to any kind of discipline? He just wont listen and only wants to jump, run away from me, play, grab what is not his, and anything but listen to a simple come, or sit even when treats are in abundance? Since he has settled he is overly hyper. Yes I walk and walk and walk him. I cant today it is raining torrential rain here, so he is in his crate as he is bouncing off the wall. I have been trying to train him to settle down by doing the sit position, but I do not know how to get past this hyperness. Any ideas? He wont sit even when I use the treat and the push down method, he grabs the treat and dashes off again:rolleyes: |
Well I bundled up and went out walking for 25 minutes in the pouring down rain, he has on a jacket but still fot wet. So I wont make rain an excuse for exercise. He is just a high strong dog, but I want him to get the training down at least one trick each week with daily training sessions. What he is doing which he has not done before is bringing his PRECIOUS bone for me and letting me take it from him and toss it back in his crate:eek: imagine that his BONE:eek: I have all the faith in the world he will learn, but the question is how do I administer it while he is so hyper |
Try to limit the training sessions for after a walk if possible. He should be a little less tired after a walk. |

For dogs? they can drink that? It soothes humans but I am not sure of the dose for dogs, will ask the vet. It will and I am scheduling castration on March 7th so off they go, hopefully it will help him temperment. He will be over 6 months then |
