Is this common? 3 yo and still not potty trained? I know Yorkies are notoriously hard to train, but Jacks is three and still not fully potty trained. :( We've tried it all! Puppy pads, diapers, bells on the door, waiting forever outside, crate training, etc. We've done it all. 80% of the time, we let him outside adn he goes fine. But its when we turn our back for a bit he decides to go again...and I'll usually find it later. I hardly ever catch him in the act. Right now, I'm using a belly band, but is he stuck with this for the rest of his life? |
Do you use a leash when you walk the pup outside? I found that outside training, no matter what the weather, did the trick. However, it did take much patience, new rain gear for both of us, and many many trips outside! If the pup did not perform outside his feet never touched the floor when he came in. My husband and I would either hold him or he would stay a little while in his crate. And then back to the outdoors! |
When you start potty training, you need to stay with one type of training untill they understand. Going from one method to another can be quite confusing for them and it delays training. |

Do you think I can still use the belly bands? I don't think he likes peeing in those. And I'll try to use a leash since he likes to run for a while before actually doing the deed. THanks! |
Have you all ready tried tethering him to you on a leash while you are around the house? |
What are belly bands and where do you get them. I looked at the pet store and all I could find was diapers. Is that what they are? |
