I use a lavender scented shampoo that is supposed to be calming for them-couldn't hurt to try that too, right? |
Ummmm Welll This Is Kinda Personal But This Is What Worked For Me I Had Bleu In Bathtub With Me He Was Not Wet I Just Held Him And Petted Him Then I Would Sprinkle Him With Water And I Had His Toy Then I Would Repeat .. I Also Put Him In The Tub With No Water And Sat In There With Him And Then When The Time Came He Was Ready So If All Fails Get In With Him Is What Im Saying!! It Worked For Me And He Was Not Afraid Good Luck! |
I bathe Sammy in the kitchen sink...it's deep and I have a spray-hose-thingy (not sure what the technical term is for it! LOL!). He's pretty calm when I bathe him in there...I think it might be because he doesn't have much room to move around, plus he's at my chest height and close to me so maybe it's comforting. I also put his towel on the edge of the sink between us so that when I'm done I can just scoop him up and cuddle him in it. Then I bring him into the bathroom, towel dry him, let him shake in the tub, then towel dry him some more. He also loves the blow dryer (on low or no heat!) and when I'm all done grooming him he runs around our home like a nut wagging his tail and all energetic! It's really cute! Plus I give him a treat afterwards. I also noticed that the times I've had to do a quick wash of his feet (like if they're muddy from being outside) in my small bathroom sink, he hates it...he fusses and squirms! Again, this might be because he's not enclosed all around like he is in my kitchen sink. Anyway, this works for Sammy so thought I'd share... ~Lara and my Sammy baby :aimeeyork |
