2 dogs to a crate? Okay, I have a weird question for ya'll. First let me start by saying that, since we've brought Smokey home, he can't be in a crate. He has extreme anxiety and will have diaherria all throughout his crate. We were giving him 3 and 4 baths a day because of this, so we decided to try letting both the dogs have free reign. Things were okay at first, but just in the past few weeks they both have been BAD when we're gone. They have a ton of toys, but for some reason, trash, underwear, and paper seem more amusing. Also, we are having extreme difficulty potty training Smokey without using a crate. So here's what I've been leading up to... Adam (hubby) decided to experiment. He left the house for about 15 minutes and put both the dogs in the same crate and came home to a normal smelling room and didn't have to give the dogs a bath or anything. We also tried it again for dinner time and everything was fine... is this okay or should we leave it as is, or is there another way we can get him to stop being so nervous. |
I use an x-pen for my two younger ones. IMO two in a crate would depend on the size of the crate. My two senior girls like to be in the same crate when necessary. It's great that your little one finds such comfort in his playmate. What a great discovery! Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
My two are sisters and I have a large crate for them in my home (its big enough for a 75lb dog) if they need somewhere to retreat.. They've stayed in the same crate since I brought them home.. Now that they go on the pads reliably, I let them free roam.. When I'm not home, they usually just sleep or play with the kitty... |
