Do they ever stop chewing? Hi I have a 7 month baby Bobby. He loves to chew on anything! i have to watch him constantly. If something is loose on the ground he will chew\eat it. He just discovered the floor boards....Daddy is not too happy with that since we just moved into our new house that has brand new wood floors! At what age, if ever do they stop chewing on things? He is almost done with his teething I think. I only see one more baby tooth in his mouth. I hope it ends soon! |
I never had that problem, does he have a lot of chew toys to choose from? I'm sure someone here can help you, Good Luck!! |
Mine quit at about one year |
He has a lot of toys. He chews those too. We have to replace them often. I am hoping its just a stage. He is good in all other ways. |
Mine loved wicker. We used lots of Sour Apple spray. She also chewed our pedestal on our dining room table and the wall once. However, after teething was over, we have never had another problem. In fact, she doesn't even like chew toys or chew treats. She stopped completely.;) |
Sounds like he might be a little bored...do you exercise him daily and play with him regularly? Yorkies have alot of energy .. they need some outlet for that energy or they can start to become destructive... :) |
we go on daily walks and he is the center of my attention. we play all the time. My husband plays with him too. We also have a nice sized yard for him to play in too. I have to keep an eye on him when we play in the backyard though because there are alot of plants and leaves for him to chew on. We just moved in so I havent been able to puppy prove the yard yet. |
They do outgrow it when there older, right now my 5mth and 10mth olds are chewing on anything in there reach, just ask hubby, he had his hat chewed up this am, lol his fault for leaving it in there reach:p my older ones dont chew on anything except chew toys or treat bones. have you tryed bully sticks, they are really good for chewing, but please supervise when they have them;) |
Well, my suggestion is when you aren't right with him, put him in an xpen...I just put my xpen up, as Ginger(karleighs little boys sister) was doing so good on pottying, that I thought okay, she's not chewing, so she can sleep out in the family room at night with the rest of them..well, lo and behold, she's chewed on some molding, but, I took her up to it the other day and showed her what she had done, told her NO you don't chew on that, and even though I didn't catch her doing it, she knew it was a no no and I tapped her little butt...well, she hasn't messed with it since. Now she does have chew bones all over and all her toys..if I find her chewing anything else, she will go back in her xpen..the thing is, they're babies, and they're teething, and they do chew(some never do) up until close to a year.. |
My Mimi chewed everything in my home...floors, walls, shoes, my sons video game cords & controllers, furniture...you name it she destroyed it. I can say that she stopped when she was around 1 yr old. |
sorry, I meant little whip, not karleigh, dang Dee you have too many yorkies..I can't even remember your screen name:D |
Rockie chewed the walls in my daughters room, bathroom. He has plenty of toys. We finally brought the xpen and he is doing really well. I recently had to paint all walls...So we had to get the xpen; he stays in it while I am at work and my daughter at school and work. |
