Too much freedom OK I'm about crazy!! Really I am! Something happened about a week ago now...she is not peeing on the pad... nor pooping. Just going where she wants. Just 20 minuets ago I walked in to see poo on my living room rug...Grrrr Grrrr! Four months old Tuesday!! Whats up? Is it a faze? Me? Her? too much freedom? Is this normal? |
Totally normal if you ask me. Training these little guys can take a lot of time and patience. If you read around the forum you’ll see members with 9 months old babies still learning |
Thanks!! I have but she knows and knows I know...hehehe make any since? I just needed to vent!! |
I know exactly how you feel...Mine do the same thing, they know they are not supposed to, I can actually tell when they have had a "accident" (even though I don't think it is a accident) because they will be hiding and acting very weird. I have a new puppy and she is the worst yet to try to potty train.....she is killing me, but she is so darn cute that it doesn't even matter. |
I guess we can all go nuts together. Kayla is 6mo. old and the same thing. Sometimes she will go on her papers and then its anywhere or anything goes. You are right when you said they know what they do. She will come back from where she has tee teed and look sooooo guilty. When she pottys she does this thing with her back feet, like what I thought only males did. She gives her self away. Your right, they are so cute thats the only thing that makes me what to brain her at times. She also does not like it outside. Is this strange or what? She will stay out with my schnauzers about a min. or two and then back in the doggie door. She does not like walking and getting in grass. Maybe we can all be shouting their praise by the time they are a year old. Geeesh!!!! |
Hannah is now 15 months old and just now she is 99% trained, she will either go on the pad or outside. So just another year and hopefully Gracie will be there. |

I feel pretty lucky because mine is 4 months old, very calm yorkie and she will almost every time go potty when i tell her. i got her from a breeder at 15 weeks and had her only 2 weeks. the breeder was training her on the pads and she was doing well, but i wanted her to go outside with the other dogs. I took her outside and after about the 3rd day of me taking her outside she went potty. She goes every time. she is getting so good if she is out with me playing she runs outside and pees all by herself. I do have a question however, i know that i can bell train, but i have other dogs that will probably just chew on it if i try and train her. anything i should do instead? |
Parker is 5 months and we can proudly say he will pee on the pad, now pooping is another story. ugh...lil buggers!!!! But we are getting there!! |

What I don't get is the she was only using the pads or outside...than wham!!! no using the pads which are changed every morning!! Again this morning I found 2 pee spots in my kitchen...goodness I can't keep an eye always on her...so she is sitting in her crate... :( and I feel like a mean Mommy. And yes I am mad...still I love her so don't take it wrong...it just seems like we are in a battle where no one wins...I feel like I have lost!!! :( The cuteys sad look did not work this morning! Grrrrrr |
i totally understand lol ... my babies are still wee babies and they are "pretty good" at using the wee pad (or going RIGHT next to it lol!) on some days and then other days i swear they potty wherever they want! we use really excited praise and little treats when they potty in the correct place and miss buffey has recently associated going potty with treats and EVERYTIME she potties, regardless of if she went in the right place, she looks up at us right after ready for her treat! :D what a little stinker! but they are so cute, i have only found myself getting annoyed once and it was my fault as i was just tired that day :) |
