Yorkie Biteing and challenging When ever I say no to my Yorkie he starts barking and trying to nip at me and runs under the table and it becomes a huge ordeal to try to get him out and he keeps coming out trying to bite me. How can I stop this agression. He is only 7 months old but I dont want to keep saying he is only a puppy and soon he will not be trainged. Not sure what to do. |
My baby likes to bit too. He is just over 4 months and I have to constantly yell at my husband because he lets the dog bit on his fingers and then yells at him for doing it. So I am yelling at the husband and the husband is yelling at the dog and the dog just sits there with a finger in his mouth. He will not bit me he will just put him mouth around my finger but not squeeze. Try yelling really loud when he bits and be very stern with him. |
This isn't working with mine either. Although Guinness is only 12 weeks old. He bites constantly and when I say no or per some advice here, pull gently on his neck skin like mama, he just gets angry. Is this just normal for his age and just keep working with him?? |
Hoo boy, I do remember those days:eek: I didn't have that problem with my 2 boys - a simple 'yelp' stopped them in their tracks but my female challenged me quite a bit and I had to consistently let her know that I was the 'alpha' in the house! Be patient but firm and they'll get it - do not let them pull you into their dominance game and wrestle with them - totally ignoring them when they act out works better. I think it helps to be the alpha in every situation - first to eat, first out the door, and the one that not only hands out food/treats/chewies but also the one that takes them away when they've had enough. Hope that helps:) |
