troubles Do you guys hold your baby's head and give them a kiss on top of their head? I do it with Chip all the time, but when I do it to Smokey he freaks out, pulls away, and tries to bite. He's not being mean about the biting I just think he's not been touched like that and he's playing. He actually got me on the nose last night and he's bit Adam a couple times and he's not trying to be mean. That dog doesn't have a mean bone in his body. I don't think anyone has ever tried to look in his mouth because when I try he fights me and won't let me open his mouth. All we have to say with Chip is "open" and he'll reluctantly open his mouth, but we've been doing that with Chip since he was 8 weeks old, so he's used to that. Smokey is 8 months. I don't know what we should do. He also barks constantly at the sight of another dog. I've tried everything to get him to stop. I tried distracting him and getting his attention on me with a treat, I've tried pulling him away, I've tried closing his mouth and saying "NO", I've tried telling him "NO BARK", I've tried carrying him, etc. He just doesn't stop. All he wants to do is play because as soon as he is nose to nose with the dog he starts trying to play, but I can't take him to PetSmart, or anywhere without him barking. He's fine if there aren't any dogs, but the slightest sight of one he goes nuts. Any advice? |
No advice from here. Just wanted to tell you good luck...and Merry Christmas |
i guess it can be hard but i think you would get better results if your are consistent with one technique, you will need lots of patience, but i believe that changing methods could get him confused and make it harder for him to undestand what it is that you want... Good luck! ;) |
Oh, also I believe that dominant dogs don’t like to be touched in their heads/backs but in their chests, you could try that with Smokey to see if he chills a bit  |

ohhh, how sweet  its so hard to get mad at them then i guess that patience is the best call, these little guys can be pretty stubborn |

Sebastian wouldn't let me kiss him at first either. I think it was the noise that scared him, but I kept doing it to Piper and he would watch, and eventually let me kiss me. Now I can even roll him over and give kisses to his belly. So hang in there he'll come around. |
I think he has been hit or something bad has happened to him. I tried to kiss him again so I could pay closer attention to what he would do. He freaked out, as I expected and ran around the room from me with his tail tucked. He tried to hide under the bed, but he's too big. He had himself in a spot where he couldn't get away from me so I kneeled on the floor with him and talked to him soft. As I reached my hand out to him to sniff me, he quickly rolled on his back like he was submitting to me, tail still tucked. He finally got up and I was able to give him a couple kisses but after that he was so scared he wouldn't even come near me. I tried everything to get him to come near me and he just wouldn't. Finally I was able to pick him up and I just held him, talked real soft to him, and gave him a couple treats. After that he calmed down, but he was really honestly scared. Somebody hurt my baby and I don't know what to do! |
i am really sorry to hear that. I hope he heals soon with your love and care |
