dribbling urine I've only had my yorkie for 5 days. He is 3 months old and we are crate training him. Today, after he was taken outside and pooed, he was allowed to play for a little while before going back in his crate. We noticed he had dribbled a little bit of urine on the floor. This has happened twice today. Is this just from excitement? Will he grow out of it? Any suggestions? Thanks |
It could be from excitement - if it is you need to ignore it or you will make the problem worse. He may grow out of it. Just warn visitors :D He could also have an incontinence issue. Ask the vet about it next time you go. They have meds to help with that. |
Maybe his bladder is growing faster than his body? |
My girl does this when she's excited. Thank God, carpet is gone now, and I have ceramic...I just get the mop out. |
Bentley does that also, he is 6 months old and when he gets excited...well we have a little mess, alot of dogs outgrow it and you cant get mad at them as they cant help it or control it |
Bauer is just about to turn a year old and he still does it. We call it Happy Pee. It sucks. He does it when ever someone comes to the house. He peed on the feet of many of our friend's. We finally learned, whenever we are expecting company - we have Bauer greet them outside. I'm still hoping he grows out of this!!! |
Hi there... Yes, pups piddle out of excitement. Meka has gotten so much better with it and she 9 mo's now. It use to happen often. She would do it when she saw one of us, or if we are around a new person.... She doesnt do it for us anymore (finally calmed down), but I have to pick her up, if she's walking when someone new approaches her. It never fails that she'll leave a few drops... |
Tucker still does it and he is almost 3! Our vet says he just can't help it. We can't stop the peeing, so we have to contain the excitement. When someone comes over I get down to his level and pet him and talk to him calmly. When I come home, I ignore him until I get my coat off and then I go to the kitchen and sit on a chair before I talk to him. And when all else fails......belly bands! |
We have a hound that does this and she is almost 4 now... |
Mayson did this up until he was about 8 months. He would do it only when he saw another dog. I live in apartment building with lots of other dogs and every day i had to carry him outside, otherwise, I'd probably get kicked out of the building from all the accidents. |
