Grrrrrrr.....potty training Why, oh why, does she go to the bathroom inside right after coming in from outside????? Today, out she went, where she did #1. Then, inside she came and did #2! It is a good thing she is so cute!!! Lori |
potty inside! you have to let them stay out for a while.I usually walk mine a bit and then let them potty.I can tell you from experience my male will go #1about 5 times weather he is actually going or just trying out the leg lift not sure but he does it 5 times and then he will go poop some times poop twice.my girl will pee twice and poop once but they have to go in different spots each time. so just take him/her out and wait a bit as they always poop after peeing. sound like you came in the house a little too soon. |
i know.... I'm dealing with it all over again. Zoe was almost 100% trained. Hardly ever had an accident.... and then the snow came. She just stands at the door begging to be let in and shivering. I almost wish I hadn't just left her trained on the pee pads. :( |
Maybe you need to stay outside with her for a longer period of time. |
It usually takes Jesse quite a while before he does his number 2. Our morning and night walks, which are when he poos, are about 15-20 minutes long. He doesn't poop until right at the very end. If I know he has to poop (you should be on a regular feeding/walking schedule so that you can know when he has to go), I will keep walking with him until he goes. Also, I've noticed that when we are out and Jesse has too poop he walks faster and his butt wags more when he walks. If he is not doing that, then I know he probably doesn't have to poop and it's safe to come back in. If you pick up on his signals, you will be able to gage when he has to go. Also, do you walk him or just let him out in the yard. Until a dog is fully potty trained, I think it is a smarter idea to separate business time from playtime outdoors. If you just let him out in the yard, he might get over excited by the sights, sounds, and scents. Potty time should, in my opinion, be on leash until the dog really gets it. |
tjdmom, Yes, the snow has put a crimp in this whole process. Today I took her out, and she just runs around in it, maybe all confused because she can't find the ground! I try to stay out for a bit, but am freezing. I keep telling her to go potty, and she keeps acting like she is peeing, trying to satisfy me, I think. We will just keep on keeping on! (oh summer, can't wait to see you!) Lori |
