walks We are training our yorkie to go for walks and everytime she starts to really run she automatically stops and we almost trip on her or step on her. Has this happened to anyone else and if so can you make it stop :animal-sm :warning: |
It Happened To Mine At First But She Got Used To It. Does Your Yorkie Walk With A Collar Or A Harness Cause I thinK With The Harness Is Much Better. |
I have the opposite problem. Preslee freezes and doesn't move the second you put her down on the ground. |
OK when we first got tucker he wouldn't move he layed down in the road like roadkill. then a little later he started doing what our baby does. now he "drags" me along behind him :p. its just a thing in a few weeks she'll be better. |

Give them time. It takes time to learn just like anything else. If they start pulling and you've already taught them the "sit" command, have them sit for a minute and then start again. You might want to keep the leash nearly straight up so that they cannot see it, too, and keep it wrapped around your hand for awhile to give them a very short lead. I love to watch them when they first start because they bounce like little rubber balls. :D They will learn easier on pavement than on grass where there are so many "smell" distractions. |
