Frustrated Okay, I know I just got Smokey home Tuesday night, but there is something driving me crazy. Everytime we leave the room for any length of time (1 hr+) we come back to poop on the bathroom floor. Not just one the bathroom floor, smushed all throughout the bathroom floor. All over his paws, the baby gate, every tile, every blanket/bed we put down for him... I think he does this as a anxious/nervous reaction because it's not like I don't take him out. When I do he just runs around for about 15-20 minutes! I take him for walks and he doesn't even pee! He waits until he's inside... he's also never had an experience with a pee pad, which I have down for Chip. I've tried putting him on it and he just gets stiff as a board and looks terrified. We've had to give him 2 baths already and have gone through more stuff to wash. I don't even have anything else to clean the bathroom floor up with anymore and no money to buy any until Thursday... I don't know what to do!!! I'm going nuts! Chip never was this hard. I'm so frustrated I could cry. |
Hang in there, maybe the bathroom is just too big...? I have Pippa in a small playpen with bed, water on one side and a pee pad in a plastic frame on the other. Not a lot of room for anything else. Her choice is pottying IN her bed, BY her food, or ON the pad. So far she chooses the pad. HOWEVER, if I don't get it picked up right away she has no problem running through it and tracking it all over. We've had her four days and she has had a bath every day... Wish I could be more help. :) |

I know sometimes there are special challenges with rescues... I hope someone has some good advice for you! :) |
rescues can definitely come with their challenges. But the rewards are amazing...give it time. |
I think things will look up when you get that crate together...much easier to clean and hopefully he will look at it as his home and not want to go in it...chin up!! We are here if you need to vent lol.. Dawn |
Blah he has diaherria now... lovely. I gave him some pepto and didn't give him food so that should clear him up. I think he got into Chip's food yesterday so that's probably why. |
