What do you put in your kong? Thanks to everyone who told me to put peanut butter in the kong. Aubrey is just thrilled with it. Someone also said to put Cheerios in it. Has anyone ever tried this? |
Cream cheese, kong stuff (they make their own), a piece of carrot, or whatever the dog likes that you can fit in. I have to say, I laughed when I saw your question! My brain just sometimes has a mind of its own! |
I put in ziggies. I believe each kong comes with one of these. I often mix the cheerios with the peanut butter and freeze it. I also found these semi large carob chip cookies that fit so I put then in there and they work. Holly loves these. Let us know what you come up with. |
Ok. Thanks yall. He loves peanut butter, but the ziggies.. he does not like for some reason. |
I fill 'em with cheerios and seal the hole with peanut butter. It's like they get a double treat and keeps them occupied for a LONG time:) |
Thats what I need to try, going to make it now. I will let you know how it works out. Thanks. |
hello you said fill the knog with cheerios and seal the hole with peanut butter ok so do u freeze it? or can they lick peanut butter and it wont make them sick:confused: I have a puppy he is almost 4 months old:thumbup: |

I fill mine with Cheerios or his Natural Balance food kibble then seal with peanut butter and freeze. Then Izzy gets this when we go to work or if we have to out for the evening and this keeps her very busy but boy does she get a messy beard and sticky. |
You can put anything that your little one likes in a kong. I've tried the peanut butter, but mine aren't crazy about peanut butter. I've also bought the liver flavored kong filling...Wesley likes this. Sometimes I break up treats and put them inside. But I must say that Wesley's favorite is when I put chicken and rice in them. |

Mine are almost too good at it-it doesn't last as long as it used to. We put Kong Stuffin' in there, peanut butter, and in a pinch, easy cheese-though that's probably not good for them! |

Taina does not like the peanut butter and I tried sticking Cheerios in there too but she wouldn't lick it. I'll try cream cheese... |
The Kong website has a recipes page :) It's got a bunch of cool ideas! :) |
ours love baby carrots Baby carrots are known to ours as carrot cookies :) so I cut them up tiny and stuff them in their Kongs. Patti and Jack |
I'm gonna have to try a kong. |
I put the treats we get from Cafe Max in their Kong. Peanut Butter does not agree with their tummies nor does the stuffing for Kong's most stores sell. So, the treats work out just perfectly. Buffy use to get the treats out in 5 seconds flat but I found that with a smaller Kong it takes her longer. |
Zoey ignored her kong until I speared it with a raw hide. It looks lke a top. She uses the kong as a grip! |
my puppy is so smart i have filled it with everything mentioned and he gets all out in no time. he will pick it up and drop it on the floor so everything falls out it is so funny to watch |
I use peanut butter, cream cheese, meat, live yogurt, tuna, small bits of hot dog, all sorts of things really. On hot days I sometimes freeze them, they love that. |
Mine just like peanut butter. The more I put in the happier they are. |
I'm trying the peanut butter today! |
1 Attachment(s) I just bought the peanut filling for our Kong today and Scruff LOVED it! So much that I have to take a (rather abstract) photo of him.:) |
Bengi doesn't like peanut butter. I put some plain yogurt and freeze it |
What kind of peanut butter do you use? Regular peanut butter, natural, or something else? |
Wow, I used to just put a treat in it, but peanut butter? I must say, I really want to try this but is any brand of peanut butter ok? I wouldn't want to give him something un-heathly or that will upset his tummy. Thanks for the great ideas, by the way. |
Frozen yogurt!!! Thank-You would have never thought of that. Great idea!!!! Seth and Sasha love their yogurt. |
A new thing I've been doing is mixing peanut butter w/plain yogurt and mashed bananas. Then i freeze it and they've been going NUTS over this new combo! |
