You STUFF your KONG with WHaT? Hey everyone, All of those who have KONG toys for their dogs can now share what they stuff their Kong toys with? Let the list begin :) What favorite treats do you guys stuff em with By the way what kinda cheese can Yorkies have? Any kind? Who will go first? |
I stuff their Kong's with peanut butter, however you do need to make sure there isnt any left in their to go bad and spoil. Just make sure to wash them out really well when they are done with them IMO. |
Peanut Butter -- stick it in the freezer for a little extra fun! |
I put peanut butter in their Kong too. Every time Benji hears peanut butter he cocks his head to the side and then looks into the kitchen. It is so funny. |
We do the peanut butter here, too. Keeps Bailey very busy. Tammy |

I use all kinds of things in the Kong. One of the favourites here is frozen plain low fat yogurt and peanut butter. I often will freeze bits of fruit in the yogurt. You might want to consider all natural peanut butter - the reg stuff has so much sugar. |
Peanut Butter, dry kibbles, or the KONG Stuff'n paste (the puppy one). Both Ceiba and her brother  their KONG! |
Baby carrots! We have the puppy kong and I can fit 2 in there. One goes all the way in and helps to support the second one so that it sticks out. Once Tia gets at that one, she has to really work to get the one that's all the way in. Keeps her busy and it's healthy! |
thanks for the ideas guys! i think my boyfriend would love it if i filled a kong with peanut butter! haha he loves the stuff ;) |
A Peanut Butter stuffed Kong is the perfect babysitter. ;) |
I use boneless skinless chicken breast in mine, they don't like peanut butter. I stuff it really tight. I agree with the above poster it about washing it really well.I use hot soapy water. |
We just got our first KONG today (the puppy one). Percy is going to town on it! It is sooo cute. Glad I found this thread, I was looking for healthy ideas on what to stuff it with. He is teething so I like the frozen yogurt idea.. |
peanut butter, yogurt, applesauce, cottage cheese, and kibble are all good choices. |
I freeze both yogurt and peanut butter and I stuff bits of whatever treats I have in there too. Harley gets his breakfast in his round kong everyday. He eats the small bites nutro so he has to roll the ball along w/ his nose so the pieces will fall out. He loves it :) But no matter what you put in your pups kongs make sure you clean them well w/ hot water and soap after every use. :) |
Could someone post a pic of a stuffed Kong? I've bought 2 different ones so far and my 2 don't seem to like it. |
We do cheerios and peanut butter then freeze it. |

Martin has the red one, Charlie the black one, and Sam has the puppy - pastel one without the rope. I stick cheerios in it then seal them in with smooth peanut butter. |
i give maisy peanut butter in hers usually sometimes i add some dry dog food in with the peanut butter ocassionally i squirt some squeeze cheese in her kong but im sure that isnt too healthy. and maisy absolutely loves bananas, idk if they are too good for her either, but sometimes i cut a little piece & push it all the way in for her! she loves that the most |
Pheona loves her kong too! I stuff it with the Puppy Kong Stuffing, Yogurt, whatever treats I have on hand, scrambled eggs, etc. Like others, I either hand wash it after each use, or I am sure to throw it in the dishwasher after each use. I can't stuff hers with peanut butter though, the last time I tried, I think it must have irritated her throat or something, because she was up ALL night hacking, and making the most awful noises. She finally stopped, but I know it was the peanut butter, because it started right after she ate it. :-( |
I love the baby carrot idea, as well as the cheerios idea. We leave 2 kongs for Emma and Milli every time we leave them home. They usually get filled with Kong Stuffn'-either the peanut butter flavor or the puppy flavor. The liver flavor grosses me out. We might try some carrots for a healthy snack in there. I run mine through the dishwasher every night-that seems to do the trick if you put the kong on the top rack with one of the spikes on the rack sticking through the top of the kong hole, with the big hole pointing down. |
I sometimes fill them with Kix cereal. They get peanut butter balls that I make them and the first time I stuffed a kong with it I like to never got it clean again. |
thanks twalla! i am going to have to look into this product. sounds like something romeo might enjoy! |
Do you think it's ok to leave a Puppy Kong frozen with PB in her crate while I'm not home? Im crating training Jersey and she's teething (shes 3 months). I looked at the kongs when I got my first Yorkie (Daisy) but wasnt sure if I could leave in there with her. |
Does anyone have a yorkie that tears up the kong? I have bought 3 and Cody has torn up 2 of them trying to get the treats out. I bought him a small one and he tore it up so this time I bought a medium one. He hasn't torn that one up yet BUT he did tear Izzy's puppy one up. Little brat |

When Jersey was with me she had them at her disposal all the time, only they weren't always filled with stuff. I think she had one filled once :) |
