Fruits/veggies/Kong My little gal is 11 months old and eats all kinds of fruits and veggies for snacks. She loves her blue and white kong toy, especially with kibble/carrot pieces and peanut butter in it....keeps her busy for about 10 minutes!!!!! She hasn't chewed hers at all...she prefers squeaky play toys. |

Tetley's not too crazy about his kong (the puppy blue one) but maybe it's just because I haven't put anything tasty enough in there yet. He doesn't seem to like peanut butter. I'll put a mother hubbard cookie in there and it will take him days (or weeks!) to get it out. He just doesn't seem to like to work for his food! |
Poco Bocelli LOVES his dark blue Kong but after only a few minutes of trying to get the treat out of it he will come to me and whine for me to get it out for him. That kind of defeats the whole purpose of giving it to him hoping it will keep him busy for awhile |
Alley loves his! I put his Science Diet biscuit in it and he'll play for a while getting it out. He's also one that gets frustrated and if it acts like it's stuck, he'll toss it off of the couch or bouce it to the wall to loosen it up. |
We have the pink puppy kong, and Rainbow doesnt really chew it either, she is 1o weeks old, i think it is still a little too big for her to get it in her mouth, but her little tongue fits just perfectly in the little hole, she loves to lick it! |
Holly has the pink one 1 Attachment(s) She loves it and plays with it all the time, but she hasn't chewed through it. I've only been using the treats, but I wanted to ask, how much peanut butter do you put inside it? Please let me know. |
Winnie has the black kong...oh yes the one made for labs. Apparently she thinks she's a big dog with big teeth. She destroyed her red kongs...wouldn't even last the day. The black one is great. She hasnt been able to make a dent in it yet and we've had it for about 6 months now. She loves it when it has a treat inside, and she also enjoys fetching it. The only problem is that the black one only comes in large and extra large and it's a lot heavier than the red, so she has a hard time jumping up on the couch with it. |
Sassy has the blue one My Sasquatch has the pastel blue one and LOVES it. She had trouble getting the treat out, but she loves to lick nutrical out if it, and I just started putting a skinny rawhide through it, and she is in heaven! I throw it and it bounces and she pounces on it and chews away! Whoever made those kongs knew what they were doing!:aimeeyork |

forgot to say that you can freeze broths in it also. but it can be pretty messy with all that melting going on. i have put in the little kong treats before, but he gets those right out. maybe i'll try the treat + peanut butter. i haven't used their cheese or peanut butter because i think $7 is too much to pay for processed cheese for any reason! haha :) |

 my best advice with the kongs is the same for any toy you get your puppy. you just have to watch their play and if they are able to destroy the level you have for them, move up. i didn't start with the puppy level since at that time he was already destroying other toys. i have found the kongs are some of the longest lasting toy investments i have in the house. |
I bought my baby a kong toy last night and he played with it for about 1 minute and then moved on lol. Oh well. hopefully he'll learn to love it !! |
Thats what mine did. I bought it when we were doing Pet training, and the pet trainer said "Oh, every dog loves it." Well got it home, and he was all excited, then he chewed the bone part down, now it just sits in his toy box... |
Bridget is obsessed with kongs. She has 2, one 'real' one and one from walmart. I bought Bella a walmart one since they were larger than the small breed size from Kong. I was concerned that Bridget might chew on it and choke on it. We usually fill them with peanut butter, sometimes freeze them and both dogs love them. Tho Bridget usually tries to steal both of them. She's relentless :p |
WHen I was at Petsmart tonight, I meant to get another one, bc the one we have now has some bone/treat stuck in it. Is there a way to get it out, Becuase Aubrey wont have anything to do with it? |
a pliers? or send it here, Bridget will get it out ;) |
Lol. DO you think that water and me sticking something in there will push it out? |
is it a treat or a bone? if it's a treat you could soak it in water until it dissolves. if it's a bone you could smash it down really hard and have someone pull it out. good luck with that! |
Its the thing that I bought to go in it right when I first got it. |
if it's a treat shaped sortof like a snowman, you can put the kong in some water and let it sit until the treat gets soft, then mush it out. it will probably have the consistency of wet dog food. |
OK. IM going to go in there in a little bit and work on it. Sounds like fun, huh? l |
