DooDah doesn't like the rubber toys either. We go in the infant department and get him baby toys. He likes the soft duck, frog, and cow. When you squeeze on their stomach they moo or quack. |

Thanks for the advice. I've thought about getting another little one as a companion for Jaden. I just hate to see him so upset when I'm gone and as much as I'm with him I can't be with him 24 hours a day. I got him when he was 2, he was actually a showdog and didn't like to show, he got really nervouse in fron of the crowds and didn't want to do anything so she sold him. He's a total sweetheart and does play more now. I've found he loves socks, beanie babies, most of my clothes that are on the floor (LOL) He was running around with a pair of my underwear yesterday  and did not want to give them back! :p Anyway, I think he'd be happier with another yorkie, just someone to keep him company. His newest thing is when I'm gone he makes a mess in his pen. Tears up everything that is in there and pee's in his bed! Something he never ever does when I'm home. So, I know he's unhappy and that makes me unhappy but it seems like no matter what kinds of toys I get he's just not happy without me :( Poor guy I really feel for him!:( |

Have you tried any squeeky toys. It might grab his attention. I got my Tippy a miniature soccer ball that squeeks and once I squeek it-she plays with it for hours and hours non-stop. They have alot of those type of toys at PETCO or PETSMART |
Abbie likes just about anything; but, our 12y/o mix, Mozart, never liked any kind of hard toy in his mouth - thus, the houseful of stuffed doggie toys all over the floor. I\'m wondering if it\'s the smell. Some of them seem to emit a horrid smell for a looooooong time. We got Mo a hedgehog at a pet store the other day, and it does this grunting sound when squeezed. I guess  that\'s what hedgehogs sound like. LOL I never heard one, so I wouldn\'t know. Anyway, Abigail let him hold it for about 15 minutes before she took it from him! EVERYthing in the house is \'hers\'. |

Get a 2nd Yorkie friend for your first doggie, instead of toys? Might work! I have two Yorkies, and they keep each other great company when I\'m away. |
Try this: Take a kitchen towel or clean rag, and with your foot drag it along the floor so that he can see it. See if he does not start chasing it. Regards, Sugar and Spice\'s Mom |
My dog wont play with anything :aimeeyork Quote:
