Talk to Me Treat Ball Anyone have one? Talk to Me Pink Treatballs for Dogs at PETCO I ordered it hoping that recording my voice would help keep Bailey entertained and from missing me while I'm at work. But I just got it today and it came broken! At least I think it's broken...I hold down the record button and talk but the red light never goes on and it never replays my message! If anyone has it and there's something I'm missing let me know. I tried to take it back to the store but they could only return it since they don't carry them. I got it on sale too. So I'm going to try calling to see if they'll send me another one. I also ordered the $12.50 treats that go with it! So it's annoying that it came broken! |
omg i love this pink treat ball!!!!!!!!!!! I want to get one now lol.. I actually saw a talking treat ball that has like 50 messages and plays one each time when the dog touches the ball. I loved it! |
I love the fact that this one records YOUR voice so your pup can feel like you're there when you're not. :) Petco.com was very easy to work with too. I called and asked for an exchange and they shipped me out a new out. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow, and at the same time the Fedex guy will pick up the old one to take back. Will let you know how she likes it once I get the working one and record my voice in it. |
I love it! I have a talking ball for Nolee, but this one is great! Thanks for the post! |
That is too neat..please update us when you get it and let us know how well it works!!! I hope it's a good one...I can't stand leaving my babyboy all day!!!!! |
There are a couple videos of them on YouTube and it looks like dogs love them! I think I once saw a video of it here on YT too but now can't find it... YouTube - talk to me treat ball |
Yay! My new ball came today and it works! It is very sensitive- plays your recording when it's barely tapped, but luckily you can turn that part off if it drives you crazy. I'll probably just turn it on when I'm not home since I hate hearing my own voice! I'm sure most dogs would love it. Even my cat, who I thought would have no interest, investigated a bit after I put her treats in it. It's a bit too big for her though (and I got the mini). She was very confused when it played my voice. :p Hopefully Bailey will love it! |
Well Bailey doesn't exactly have the reaction I hope for with the ball. I thought it would comfort her, but the voice part seems to freak her out! Here is a video. She hasn't figured out to roll it to get the treats out, and I'm not too sure I want her to have it because I don't want to encourage the barking/growling. I guess it would keep her busy for a bit when I leave though! |
Love the video that is soo cute! |

HAHAHAH that video was too cute. I am so getting it. How sweet! |
But is it really ok if this toy is teaching her to bark? I don't want her to be yappy later on. When she starts growling and barking at the ball (she does it even when the voice feature is off) I take it away for a while. Lately I just put her dry food in it and it's enough to get her to play with it. She loves getting the food out, I just don't know why she has such a "mean" reaction to the ball. |
Is she generally a barker?? Snickers only barks occasionally at things, and at us when he wants us to play but thats about it. I don't mind if he barks really. But if Bailey barks often, then it might pose a problem. |
Well I've only had her since Friday, and she's only 10 weeks, but with the treat ball is the only time I've heard her bark. However, she does have separation anxiety and when I leave the room she cries & howls. I would hate for her to add barking to that, as I'll eventually be leaving her alone for 8 hours while I work. |
Awwww, congrats, how fun!! You must be having a ball with her!! If she is only barking at the ball, don't worry to much, also the more attention you give to her barking-the more she will bark. Snickers had SEVERE Sep Anx (see my thread "I'm lost, depressed, and don't know what to do" in Training section.) When you eventually leave her alone while you are at work, be sure she is by a window and can look out. Snick would soil himself daily until we did this. Now, he has random accidents, we are so relieved and hopefully it will cont to help. Good luck...I just ordered the ball from another website. Can't wait! |

I agree with you, I wouldn't want to encourage the barking! It's a great idea though. Maybe she will get used to it! |
That video should be available wherever they sell these..LOL.. Bailey is a cutie...I enjoyed the video very much.:) |
I ordered the Talk To Me Treat Ball and treats. It was delivered yesterday. I recorded a message for Ben and gave it to him. He and Candy (our JR) seemed to really get excited about the voice It worked for about 10 minutes and now no talking. :( That had to be a record for a broken toy. It did not sound like the battery was going it just stopped all of a sudden. I think I will send it back. I hate returns, sometimes the hassle is not worth the price you pay for the thing. |

I also ordered the treats that go with it even though they were pricey. They came with the seal broken and even though I just gave Bailey a tiny piece of one it took her 10 minutes of chewing on it to finally break it down. I returned those to the store. |
Good news! I had ordered my Talk to Me Treat Ball from Good Friends General Store. The lady was super nice when I called and was more than willing to stand behind the product. But she told me a trick to try first. You take out the batteries (there are 4 watch-type batteries), rub them with an eraser and put them back. The toy started working again no problem. Ben and Candy are both entranced by my voice talking to them again. Ben's bark is on there too as everytime I tried to record, he would hear me egging him on and he'd start barking. What did I do for amusement before I had dogs, I forget. :) |

Got this new video of Bailey playing with it yesterday and thought I'd share. And FYI Bailey completely ignored this ball for several days. If your dog is uninterested, a good trick is to tuck a treat under the ball so they have to nudge it with their nose to get it. From then on they'll be hooked. :D |
LOVE IT!!!! Bailey is just adorable! |
I MUST get this for my Bailey!!!!!!! He would go nuts!!! |
Thanks for posting the video -- I loved watching Bailey getting her treats! I recorded a longer message on mine so it "talks" for quite awhile after they nudge it. I got the blue one with green hearts. |
I can't wait to get ours! |
I have the talking treat ball and recorded Lucky barking on it. It is sooo funny. He thinks it is another dog. |
That is priceless....what a cutie baby!!!! I think it will work wonders for my 8 month old who thinks he's in charge when I'm not home. Stay tuned for a very funny video....just wait until I get my new toy....hehehehehehe. |
Just got ours today and thankfully it works just fine even after I dropped it on the hardwood:rolleyes:. Snickers is scared to death of it, runs away when he hears my voice from it....hilarious! |
Too Cute!!! Quote:
