Help - Nylabones Are there different kinds of nylabones? My brother in law sent one with her, it is black and I think she is eating the plastic off it. I thought I read somewhere that nylabones were fine for them. |
Some of the nylbones I would be weary of, is it something that they could break off and swallow. I know some of them are edible |
Hiro-san loves the edible nylabones! They come in different sizes (some are HUGE!) and flavours (mmmm, tasty peanut butter!), but I haven't seen any of the edible ones come in black.. I'm paranoid of all toys so I check them regularly and repair them, wash them, boil them or just toss them. lol |
I'm thinking that my black one must be plastic. Today in the pet store I saw different colored ones, do they last a while? |
we gave my 4 month old puppy one of those that was for puppies only and she either ate the whole thing or hid it somewhere that we cant find it. i thought it said it was not ediable, i think it was the roast beef flavor. :aimeeyorkgracie |
I can't give Cody any of the plastic "tough" ones that are supposed to help with teething. He's a hard chewer and has them in pieces in minutes |
Hiro is a stubborn little chewer, so he has the mini edible nylabones gone in an hour or so. I throw the little stub away so he doesn't choke on it. He doesn't gulp either so if a small piece comes off the bone he chews and chews and chews on it. lol |
Our dogs love the nylabones. They have the NON-edible ones and they last a long time. The edible ones disappeared too fast and I had concerns about them chocking on the pieces. With the non-edible version they only get very small pieces that will easily pass through their digestive systems. We have never had a problem with these and they always have them at their disposal. |
I just want to make sure that the non-edible bones are ok for them. She is just starting to chew some of the coloring off. I don't want to poison her. |
Sasha LOVES nylabones and there's definitely many different kinds. I started off with the flexible flavored kind until I found out that she was a stronger chewer than I thought she was, so I switched to the durable kind. I'm pretty sure it's chicken flavored and she absolutely loves it. Plus, it keeps her busy for awhile. |
I am very much afraid of the Nylabones. Especially the non-edible ones. My kids gnaw off small pieces and I would find them in their poop. I'm not sure where they are manufactured, but if I had to guess I'd say...... CHINA :( |
my yorkie loves nylabones they're just about the only thing he can have, he is such a strong chewer he gets through things sooooo fast so i think nylabones are the best toy, i get the ones that are really thick called prince and they are blue and round, they are for powerful chewers... Tyler does get bits off but only shavings like rice sized which is ok according to the leaflet in the packaging! nylabones are vetenary approved also i think so its the only toy i trust really and they are great for their teeth too!:) |
With the non-edible version they only get very small pieces that will easily pass through their digestive systems. We have never had a problem with these and they always have them at their disposal. __________________ The package states "Should pass through their digestive systems" it does not state IT WILL! Just to let you know the sliver's can cut the wall of the intestines and bowel area making them bleed. I have been through it with Buddy and they are very dangerous. Please don't give your baby plastic nylabones. For a dog that chews these fragments off your looking at expensive hospitalization possibly. It cost me $2,200.00 to find out that nylabones are very dangerous to puppies and dogs. |
I dont use them. My brothers Yorkie ate one,and it was suppose to be non edible,so I've steared clear. I've been buying bones at the butchers. Cooking them in beef broth (for flavor) They can't break down and they seem to love them. If I get a good size hallow one,I fill it with all natural peanut butter and treats,or cook liver up and fill it freeze it ,they love it. It keeps them busy for hours. |
I give Gizzie the non edible ones and for an extra treat I will sometimes smear a little p'nut butter on it, she goes wild;) |
