Yorkie on a Stamp!! 1 Attachment(s) This is one Christmas present Mike gave to me, and I just HAD to share with all of you Yorkie enthusiasts! And YES, it IS Otis! Mike had his pix turned in to real usable stamps! Of course, I'm not wasting these on gas bills or phone bills!! |
WHERE did Mike get those done?? That is great ... I put Toto on our return labels but would love to get stamps with her on them!! What a nice thing to do!! ;) |
I'm not sure. I think Stamps.com because that's what it says on the bottom of the page. |
For a while you could do them at USPS.gov. WAY TOO CUTE!!!! |
:( Found the site ... the market test is over. Drat!! Will keep periodically checking back to see if it was a success ... bet it was!! Thanks Junebug!! ;) |
Oh, that's just adorable! What a great present!! |
Oh how I would LOVE to have those stamps! Will keep watching that site, too. |
stamps I have a small collection of Yorkie stamps from all over the world..about 20 or so. I had no clue some countries had them...OTis is a doll aby. |

PM me your address, and I'll send you one of Otis's stamps to add to your collection. I'm serious! :) He belongs in your collection....after all, he IS a Yorkie! |
Aww man, Mike shoulda told me!!! Yoda's Momma would be so happy to have some. I actually saw the be on a stamp thing, but didn't think about putting Yoda on there at all. WHAT WAS I THINKING! :P That kicks butt Junebug! Otis is FAMOUS! That is totally awesome and sooooooooo cool! Mike is DA MAN! Let him know that! :) By the way, I think they will bring back the program to have your own pets on stamps, they had some problems of people putting nefarious characters (mass murderers, etc) on the service, but I think they will still allow babies and pets or something like that. We shall know within the next 90 days. Here's the site: http://photo.stamps.com/ |
Otis I PM'ed you..you are very kind to share, I know they are precious to you. Otis will out shine all the others. |
tooo cute! Otis is way toooo cute on that stamp! How awesome! :D :p |
Thanks, fasteddie! I will keep an eye out for the info! ;) |
I will too bettyeanne, I think stamps.com will make a mint off us Yorkie owners when they re-instate the program! :) |

They were fun to make, and pretty easy to do online. I just added the "Otis" part, but if they reinstate the program, you can add anything you wish to the graphic. My other idea for a gift was a shoulder bag that I saw in some mail-order catalog where you can send in an 8x10" photo, and they will put the color image on the bag! It's way more than an iron-on, I think, as the bag is large. But I liked the stamps idea better since the bag needed an actual photo to send in, and took something like 6-8 weeks. The stamps took a total of about 10 days to receive. Gad you like the stamps, and if I find any other "yorkable" items around, I'll pass them along...unless they are a secret for Junebug. Then I'll PM FastEddie. :) Cheers! |
Yes, PLEASE! You know us Yorkie junkies, we'll do anything for our little ones! Include mail them all across the country (on a stamp of course!!!) to people we like! The only personalized Yoda thing I have is a mug with his picture on it imprinted at the mall. I've also got one of his baby teeth set in a little gold piece and on a necklace I wear. :) |
YAY! The US Postal Service is going to bring back personalized stamps! WOO HOO!!! We gotta wait up to a month or so, but all our Yorkies can all be famous like Otis and be on a stamp! --- APRIL 26--Congratulations to our friends at Stamps.com, who are poised to relaunch their fabulous personalized postage program thanks to a decision announced yesterday by the U.S. Postal Service. The Santa Monica firm last year took part in a USPS pilot program that allowed consumers to customize postage with photos of babies, pets, and bucolic scenes. By all measures, the seven-week market test was a roaring success...though there was that one glitch. As you may recall, TSG was able to order stamps with a variety of distinctive images, including the below 37-cent stamp featuring Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, the New York couple executed in 1953 for spying for the Soviet Union. On the succeeding pages you'll find stamps honoring Monica Lewinsky's blue dress (the one splattered with Bill Clinton's DNA); Linda Tripp; deposed Yugoslavian ethnic cleanser/war criminal Slobodan Milosevic; MIA labor racketeer Jimmy Hoffa; executed Romanian dictator/Communist oppressor Nicolae Ceaucescu; former New Jersey Governor James McGreevey and alleged gay lover Golan Cipel; and high school and college yearbook photos of Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, who used the postal service to deliver his homemade bombs. Despite that little bump in the road, USPS brass announced yesterday that the personalized stamps program will be put out to bid Wednesday, with a year-long test expected to last through May 2006 (within 20 days of receiving USPS authorization, a vendor will be allowed to start peddling personalized postage). Since Stamps.com has already handled the trial run, the firm is likely set to resume its PhotoStamps program next month. News of the USPS decision has today driven the online postage firm's stock price up about 20 percent, to its highest point in nearly five years. Those are so cute, what a great gift!! |
I was just thinking about these stamps the other day and was going to look into it.. So great they are coming back - gonna be such fun paying those bills now, NOT!! LOL :D (atleast the cute stamps take some of that pain away though) |
That's true! I might actually smile when I mail off that stupid car payment! ;) |
Ooh ooh ohh... We can order now and get First Edition printed on our sheets! :) http://photo.stamps.com/PhotoStamps/ Here is the bad news though, the price. It's $16.99 for a sheet of 20 37-cent stamps. So we're paying a premium of $9.59 for the customization. So I don't think we want to be using our personalized stamps for EVERY piece of mail we send out. We're definitely going to be keeping a few for ourselves, and perhaps if we send out Yoda birthday party invitations... for next year. :) |
I wanted to do that with checks. Very cute! |
Me too! I want to personalize my checks to put Ginger and Oreo on them. Problem is i have already a ton of extra checks for wheni run out. could i possibly get new ones? i am changing my name anyhow. :p |
I will like to get personalized Stamps with Gucci. It will be nice to have personalized checks. I do my payment online so I hardly use my check book and stamps. Oh well, I will see. :) |
Oh, where can you get personalized checks??? I would LOVE those! |
Stamps.com said that the test was a success and that photos on a stamp are once again a reality!!!! They're available now. So why are you still reading this? Hurry! Go make a stamp and show us! *rummages through digital collection of Bodhi's pictures* |
that's so awesome, very unique |
I just went to stamps.com You can do this now-I just made a stamp of Baxter. I think I may do this for Christmas cards. HOW cute! |
What a creative idea! I will do the same. |
