Help! Eating toys to pieces!! and Humping toys What to get that they can not destroy? I don't want her eating unhealthy things but she has. I have had toys as old as 3 years old, I got for my schnauzers. But Furgie chewed on the corners and pulled out the stuffing.... ;( What to get that they can not eat holes into or eat the plastic or fuzz? HELP!!! Also she LOL, has even tried humping a froggie ummmm why? She is only 3 1/2 months old. At least that is what it looks like...was she marking that toy so the schnauzer would think it was hers? |
Haha, sorry I can't help much but I have the same problem with my male Yorkie. We've had to "retire" so many toys, it’s not even funny. At first it was stuffed animals that would get the stuffing pulled out of them, but then it moved to hard plastic and rubber toys that you would think are indestructible. My mom has this bone thing mine play with when they go over that she swears truly is “Osbourne proof”, but I think if we had one at our house it would only be a matter of time (I’m talking days – possibly hours!). The best one we have right now is those heavy duty squeakers that look like a ball with feet. Besides that I guess my only advice is just to make sure it’s not toxic and watch her. As far as the humping, sounds like it’s just a puppy thing that she will outgrow. |
Thanks Larsen! I guess it is back to shopping for something...made of steel I guess!!! |
LOL, good luck...and let me know if you find anything else good. I like how strong the squeaker is but sometimes the noise can be a little much. :p |
lol those balls with feet are annoying as heck but my pup loves hers too. I also suggestion petstage toys. also do a google search for indestructible toys and you will find some good sites. i looked for these too a while ago for a friend with a rottie who chewed everything. as for the humping, i'd tell her no and then take away whatever she was doing it do and try to get her to play or do something else. humping in females is usually a sign of dominance, and i wouldn't want her to get any ideas at such a young age. |
Oh Lord here we go the battle of the wills...dominance huh? I thought it might be that!!! Next time I'll tell her you said NO! :lol tears |

My female does this and always has. If I give her any toy that squeaks she will destroy it until she gets that plastic sqeaker out of it. |
Ambrose has a toy we like to call Mr. Humps. Guess why. |

The only toy that lasts with my Edie is the Kong. They are terrible little beasts, aren't they??;) |
Uno has gone through 2 bobos, 1 monkey, and a his toy seal that came with him from the breeder. it makes me so frustrated!!! Also...I am having a hard time getting him to stop eating random things that fall on the ground...and with Christmas decorations being up, he ALWAYS wants to find SOMETHING to eat. He digs into the fake poinsettia pots and eats the filler that makes the arrangement stay in (I repeat, FAKE...would never put a real one out). I'm so frustrated! I feel your pain. |
Is it a full on hump? Mogli normally chews the eyes or nose off animals ... and he will "hike" things ... at first it looked like a hump, but it wasn't. Our other dog Sissy, she's the toy destroyer. Straight for the stuffing. You should switch maybe to really durable, or non-cloth toys. Maybe a rope or something, they're almost indestructible. |
Aren't they just adorable at that stage. LOL. I get as much excerise as Romeo just chasing him. They are so quick. |
