| Newbie from Tipperary Ireland Hi Everyone, I am delighted to have Yorkie talk to get to know other Yorkie parents and also to get some valuable advice from experienced Parents. I have two Yorkie Puppies Pixie and GI Joe, they are nearly 15 weeks and feeding well. They are eating Hills Science Diet dry nuts for puppies. They weight 3.7 pounds and 4.2 pounds ( is this the correct weight for 15 weeks?). Also Joe passed a lot of mucus last night ... it was there when we got up this morning. I am worried about this! Can anyone advise me what this is or is the food upsetting his tummy. Is has happened to his last week as well. Can anyone please advise me? Thanks so much. Pauline |

| well it could be he is extracting his own anal glands....that may be where the mucus is coming from. you can check with your vet but i think as long as his stool is nice in formed you are ok. when they scoot their bum on the floor that usually means they need their anal glands done which for yorkies is common.

| So I guess you are saying make a vets visit to see what is going on with him! Do you think this is serious and do I need to bring a sample of this mucus with me? |

| No they never had that check done, if fact I am thinking of changing my vet. The vets I go to mostly deal with large animals and although they do have a small aminal clinic they freely admit they know more about large animals like cows and horses. |

| well then certainly you may want to consider changing these lil ones need someone who knows how to take care of them and the traits of the smaller breeds. they should have fecals especially to be sure they are free of worms.
