| Healthy chews? Hi everyone I would like to get my furbaby some healthy chews and wondered if anyone had any recommendations. I bought a soft plaited chew from Sainsburys - think it was a Pedigree chew - but 'little Miss Fussy' didn't like it. On the US site it seems that the Merrick flossies and bully chews go down a storm with their Yorkies, but we cannot get these in the UK and I haven't seen anything like them here either. I have seen on the US site, too, that there have been problems with the Greenies not agreeing with our Yorkies digestion and I also read that the Nylbone chews have been causing problems too. Just wish I could buy plain dried beef as a chew. Has anyone found something that their little ones enjoy and is not unhealthy. Luv Franceen |

| I give Pixie the Rawhide chews, not sure what they do for digestion though? but she loves them and seem to clean her teeth, when they get too small and a choking hazard i throw them away and give her a new one, also, i never leave her alone with one.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | We've tried them all and keep coming back to bully sticks. They last a long time, and they are digestible. I usually take them away when they get too small, though. Greenies changed their recipe and they are now more digestible, but I don't get the point of giving them something that they are encouraged to swallow. It's not food.

| We like Merrick Flossies the best. Dried sweet potato is good too.

| Thanks for the replies, everyone. I did try the rawhide chew, Kezza, but Tootsy wasn't all that interested in it. I will see if I can find the sweet potato stix over here - you guys are so lucky in the US and Canada, tumismom, as you get so many good things for them. As I said in my original post, I just wish we could get Merricks bully sticks and Flossies in Europe. As for the cardboard boxes, rainbowhope they sound as though they could be fun, although she has never shown any interest in a box before. I know that I was told not to give my budgie empty toilet rolls to play with, as it has adhesive on it - not sure if it is toxic to our little ones, but perhaps we should first find out before letting them chew them up. | Mine actually quite like the Nylabones. They'd last the Yorkies ages if the Skyes didn't take them & eat them! |

| Hi we used to give our guys the raw hide until we heard that they go soft when being chewed but once in the stomach they can go back to the original consistency and may cause digestive problems. We get them tripe sticks the stink but the guys love them and the 100% natural as well. We also get them the bones that are full of meal and the go mental for them!!! Still havent figured out what bully sticks are though????

| I give our girls C.E.T. Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews and C.E.T. HEXtra Premium Chews with Chlorhexidine ,, www.CEXDental.com,,,,the Petite size does great for my girls,, they LOVE them,, i offer them once a week or so,, but tear one strip to divide for them,, as they REALLY go to town on em,, when i had just Cricket alone,, she would eat on one for DAYS,, but Daisy INHALES everything,, so,, i have to part things out to them all now and as for paper towel rolls,, toilet paper rolls,, they are dangerous to give to Parrots (we have 3) and yes,, the adhesive is dangerous for them,, so i'd not give them to my Yorkies either,, but dont KNOW of dangers for dogs with such |
