Thats so sad, i am so sorry to hear about your baby. I hope that he gets better! its so sad to think that ppl out there will breed animals that they know are sick! it really doesnt make sense,to have all those dogs you would think she would be a true animal lover but i guess we dont all think this way!!

That may be a little too much, considering that the breed after all comes from the UK. I do not know that much about liver shunt but I have few friends that live in England and they own Yorkshire terriers (one is a Yorkshire terrier show breeder), nevertheless they never heard about liver shunt in their lines. Many of today's dogs in the USA come originally from an English bloodline called Blairsville and many more (Ozmilion, etc..)...again I am not too informed here so we would need some show people to explain this. :p

I also have a problem with this breeder. I bought a dog at 11 weeks of age. At 4 months the vet told me that one of his testy didn't do down. The vet told me that at 6 months the dog need to have both testies removed. I call Camille Vinet and she told me that the vets are there to make money and that I have to wait until the dog is 12 months old. The dog his now 6 months old. I emailed Camille Vinet to ask her if she will take the responsability if the dog get cancer if I wait those 6 more months she told me to wait. She never replied to me.

She contacted me about females pups . I told her that I wasn't interested to send my puppies in puppymills , she told me that she was a reputable breeder.
I replied that she have a very reputable puppymills . She was very mad at me and I was very happy of it . I don't think she'll contact me anymore for puppies .

Go see your vet and ask him to give you a written report about the dog condition and if he says he should have surgery now then dont wait ..after that take her to court "cour des petites creances" I did a search under her name and a couple of people went to court and won their cases . Send me a PM if you need a good vet referral .
Royce has a congenital kidney disease and now that I have more time to take care of this I will take her to court I have nothing to loose .

I know, I saw 2 cases on quebec court that she lost.

I know her too well and I am not interested by her dogs. She seemed very interested to exchange 2 of my pups with her . I told her that I wasn't interested in her scrap . Peoples I know are taking her to court .

Wow..........what a great bunch of people..........too many breeders are getting away with selling sick puppies and then not doing the decent thing........livershunt is prevalent in the breed and you should never buy a yorkie puppy without a bile acid test and if a yorkie has livershunt or MVD then the sire and dam should never be bred to each other to produce this again..........I sure hope Dr.Sharon Center soon finds the DNA marker to eliminate this heartbreaking disease..........keep on fighting for our doggies, they only have us.....

I was wondering if any one has had an experience with Dovercastle yorkies they are located near Paris Ontario, I have heard they have used fake names as they use to breed cats and are trying to hide from all the cat breeders she ripped off and was kicked out of all the cat associations. I have tried to contact them regarding a pup but can never reach them on the phone,

Yes there is much talk or gossip about this kennel but never the less she has the number one yorkie in canada thanks to the breeding of Durrer Yorkies and I might add that I don't care if it is the queen of england breeding yorkies...........IF SHE IS NOT BILE ACID TESTING HER PUPPIES............THEN RUN AND RUN FAR...........the health of the yorkie breed is in the hands of these top breeders and they should be concerned with livershunt being so prevalent in the breed and they should be doing the testing.........WHY NOT? No one is free of this dreadful disease as it is everywhere and testing is the only way to ensure that your puppy does not have livershunt........there is no test for the parents so testing them only tells us they do not have livershunt but they could be carriers.......we really need a DNA marker to help the breeders and the breed..........

Oh my .. I'm so happy that I've listened to my 6th sense and tried to find some reviews about Camille Yorkie after I had a talk with her over the phone ...

Just lost my beloved Miko .. His death was unexpected as he was perfectly healthy, 6 years old and sent to the vet for a teeth cleaning appointment.

He died in the anesthesia for unknow reasons .. Probably a heart condition that the vet could not perceive with a stetoscop. Anyway .. I am mourning his lost like I've just lost my own child, I still cry at any moment of the day and being in an empty house is driving me even more crazy.

As I am trying to find another little love to take care of (Not to replace my beloved Miko, but to fill the emptiness and help me through the mourning .. and especially to give that extra love that I can't offer anymore ..) I called my dog's old breeder (Marie-Josée Toilettage, she is fantastic and really is concerned by the health and well being of her dogs) but her next liter will be ready in june. As I am already going nuts, I cannot wait that long. I've decided to look on kijiji for breeders and found the Camille Yorkie ad.

Her website looked pretty legit and she looked like she was a good breeder. I've decided to call her and get some info about the puppies ... And the first thing she talks about is the price of the dogs .. And the weight. Uh ohhh .. Alarm buzzing in my head !! So I've decided to look her up on google and BINGO.

Thank god for this website... I can't afford to go through another heartbreak in the next year ... My heart won't be able to go through it.

Anyway ... Anyone can refer me reliable breeder in the Montreal and surrounding areas that has litters ready now or very soon? Ain't looking for a weight .. Just a healthy and happy puppy to love and take care of ...

I was supposed to go visit her litter this sunday .. But when I called her for some info, all she was talking about was the price and the weight of the pups .. My 6th sense told me something was not legit, so I googled for some reviews and found that ..

I can't afford another heartbreak .. I'm barely alive these days after the loss of my baby .. How can she live with herself ???? Selling sick puppies and breaking people's heart because they have to put their dog to sleep or can't afford the surgeries needed to save their dogs .. These kind of people makes me want to go on a klling spree ....

I feel terrible that you got an ill baby from this breeder. Please, dont base the fact that you got a puppy with liver and kidney issues from this breeder, that she is not reputable. You have not contacted her, so she doesnt even know she has a problem with this particular breeding pair! She may fall all over herself, trying to make this right for you and the baby.....unless you know for a fact she continually sells genetically defective dogs, with absolutely no consideration for tracking her litters and their outcomes, you can not justify blackballing her based on one genetically defective baby that she knows nothing about! I track my babies....I have very healthy lines, old established lines that are known to throw healthy, sound babies...but I am NOT God, and Mother Nature can throw a wrench in ANY breeding! If someone I sell a puppy does not even contact me with a problem, I have NO idea what is going on....I tell all my buyers to contact me once a year, without fail, an let me know how the baby is doing... It is not a disgrace to have a litter produced that has liver, kidney, or heart issues...it is an act of God.....BUT WHEN YOU KNOWINGLY CONTINUE TO PRODUCE GENETICALLY DEFECTIVE PUPPIES, THAT IS WHAT MAKES YOU A DISGRACE AND UNREPUTABLE! Please give the lady a chance to prove to you she is not concerned about your issue...she may very well be a great breeder, that got a one time fluke out of that breeding pair...she may want to contact the owners of the other littermates to see if they too are having problems.....and by the way, you want to know for certain that liver issue is congenital and not acquired before you contact her or condemn her.

If you read the entire thread, you'll see that it's not the first time that it happened. I also spoke to my breeder's baby and she said she heard terrible stories about her .. Like leaving the puppies in her backyard locker in the beginning of the winter, not heated, and letting the poor things freezing .. Also some other people had sick dogs with congenital liver problems .. they tried to contact her and she never wanted to collaborate .. She got sued A LOT at small claims here in Quebec and lost.. I strongly recommand that no one buys from her.

I went back and read all of the previous posts about this breeder....she certainly appears to have an issue. I am sorry for your poor little sick baby...please contact her and tell her what is going on, and let us know what her response was. Like I said, be sure you are able to tell her if it is a congenital or acquired liver shunt....

You are ABSOLUTELY correct! And neither did I notice the DATE!!! 2007!!!! I REALLY do need to watch the dates and stop trying to contribute to posts that are 5 years old!!!

Etheriane bumped it because she was ready to visit the breeder when she found this thread. The breeder is still selling dogs, so thank you Etheriane for helping to warn others. So even these old threads can be helpful!

With all the legal issues this woman has had, I can not understand how in the world she can continue with this "breeding" program she has. Do they not have some kind of regulatory department or people that routine investigate kennels, especially ones with this ones history???? I agree, thank you Etheriane, for bring this to people's attention again.

I know it is sad isn't it, but if a breeder sells directly to the public they don't need to have a licensed kennel, therefore no inspections. Most people don’t bother to sue, so these horrible breeders go on and on and usually sell on open registration to other back yard breeders perpetuating the genetic illnesses.

Quebec unfortunately has the worst reputation in Canada fo it's horrifying lack of governance in controlling BYBs and mills. After a HUGE bust of a mill last year I am really hoping we see a change but I doubt it. Someone needs to get laws changed there.

Breeders warning / Camille Vinet

Two days ago (June 22nd) i spoke with a lady who had the most beautiful baby face Yorkshire, called Charlotte, she had both from Camille Vinet. Charlotte is not 5 years old and a year or two ago, she had to undergo a kneecap surgery witch costed the lady a $3500,00 fee. The lady was referring me Camille Vinet as she taught Charlotte's case was an exception. I know how to reach this lady so I thing I will print your comments and will bring them to her so she knows never to buy another dog and stop referring Camille Vinet.

I am compelled to say something here. Having kidney disease and/or liver shunts show up in a puppy, does NOT make the breeder unethical, or unreputable....IT IS HOW SHE HANDLES THE SITUATION THAT DETERMINES HER INTEGRITY AS A BREEDER! You need to FIRST, contact the breeder and let her know what you have found in your baby. If she is supportive and starts to pick up vet bills and refund money on the purchase price, and she stands by you, you have JUST come on here and been unecessarily brutal to someone that is perhaps a fine, upstanding, concerned, caring breeder that is going to bend over backwards trying to make this right for YOU, and then look at her own program with the breeding pair that produced this baby, and make some tough decisions. LOOK AT YOUR CONTRACT AND HEALTH GUARANTEE....WHAT DOES IT SAY? You have a responsibility to contact the breeder FIRST, before you try to blackball her, and see how she handles this! If her attitude is "gosh, it has been over a year...good luck and have a nice day", THEN come on here and any place else you feel comfortable, and explain what has happened!
