Friendly Toronto Yorkie's - Play Dates
 
Hi there, I just joined YorkieTalk today after hearing great things from two of the Yorkie Moms I've recently met on meetup.com.
I have a beautiful 8 mo old yorkie boy, 5 pounds, he is super social and we've been meeting other yorkie parents since I adopted him a few months ago. Not only my pup has been making new friends but I have been too (What a great bunch of people, really!).
So I recently started a meetup group & have been hosting small (5 dogs at a time) groups & large (51 yorkies last weekend at doggie central) groups which are always free (unless we decide to meet somewhere like paws way where there might be a small charge to attend). You are welcome to join our group if you would like to bring your little pup and have him or her socialize (and you socialize too) with a group of friendly Yorkies: http://www.meetup.com/The-Toronto-Yorkshire-Terrier-Yorkie-Meetup-Group/

Hey Sweet Girls, Thanks for joining. Since I brought my beautiful furbaby home I've had a desire to meet with the like minded and it has already paid off in so many ways. I have met SUCH a fabulous bunch of women! Marley is having a great time! I've learned a little something from each lady as we all do things slilghtly different and I've taught a couple of tricks I've learned too (brushing teeth, etc). Everytime I leave a play date I feel like I learned one important new thing that will make me a better Yorkie Mom :) & having SO Much Fun! Hope to see you soon!

I just wanted to post on here that there are weekly meetups on Sunday at Sherwoon park in Toronto starting at 11am! it is so close to my house and i am going to try to make it as much as possible in the summer months! hope to meet more YTers there!

wow some torontonians, i am interested. i know there is one on meet up.com, but they charge $5 now per meet up. and they meet too far for me. is this one still happening?

We've done the beaches, the water park and high park.

Wow. Wish there was something like this in Whitby. My little guy has not found many friends to play with. I am even going to start taking him to daycare so he can meet other dogs. I am currently out of work and always fear he will get too clingy and anti-social having me here all day.

you could make one? walk around your neighbourhood and when you see small dogs, ask if they want to have a playdate or want to meet up at the dog park etc.. also post of here asking for whitby owners and on craigslists.:)

Yeah. Think I will start trying to find some. Already found Jacqui with her 3 adorable furbys and she lives close by. :animal-pa

This is awesome! I recently joined YorkieTalk. I have a female yorkie she is only 12 weeks old. I would love to meet fellow yorkies and moms in the summer or when the weather is warmer.

cool..maybe one of us can post a date here when the weather gets better.
i know i will.we can meet at a dog park or even in someones back yard and sit around laughin at them lol

Great! Sounds like a plan. I love that area. My family and I, we go there every summer. There is a park with a spectacular view, at the top of the bluffs called Cathetadal Park. I've also been to Thompson Park, a few years back. I must go this summer. I had no clue they had a dog park. Thank you for the info.

there was no dog park there before, i think it is 2 years old or something like that, it is right at the corner of brimely and lawrence a big and a little dog park, which is good cause i don't want to be beating any large dog owners up for their dog trampling my yorkie down lol

Meet at Sherwood park entrance (top of hill) at 10sharp for Yorkie walk through optional off leash path (aprox 45 minutes). Bring a friend!

Cherryblossom- the major intersections are Mt. Pleasant Rd. and Eglinton Ave. I wasn't sure where it was, I googled the address. :)

hey paws way is having a free agility intro on may 4th at harbourfront. tickets are $25. per dog, i am just bringing jobi. you can bring as many family members as you want. money goes to heart and stroke foundation

We're looking forward to going! Took Chloe to a fenced yard for the first time today and she was having so much fun and she seemed pretty reliable when I call her back!! I'm sure she'll enjoy a dog park even more since she'll have all her shots by then and be able to run off leash again.

is sherwood a dog park? or just a park? i took jobi to withrow dog park saturday and there was so much broken glass there. i will not go there again!
plus he ignored every dog there lol
