Play Party Near GTA Lets get to it and plan a "coffee and play party" for our wee people! It doesn't need to be a whole long event, just a quick meetup to meet each other and introduce our babies! Hopefully it will lead to all sorts of helpful relationships for questions / sitting / assistance / play mates!! :aimeeyork :aimeeyork To get us going i will toss out some ideas... 1) lots of parks along Lakeshore Road; 2) lots of tim hortons/starbucks along Lakeshore Road; 3) lots of groomers / pet stores along Lakeshore Road.... Can we try something in Port Credit (Mississauga) area? Maybe take a walk along the street to get a coffee / look in pet store(s)? Head to a park for a few? Saturday or Sunday? |
Hi! I live in Hamilton and yes it would be fun to meet with others. Sunday would be best for me because most Saturdays I drive east of Oshawa to see my Mother in a nursing home. However if Saturday is better for others, I will do the visit another day. Do you have a date in mind? I know of at least two others in the immediate area who might come. |
I forgot to say Welcome to YT! You will find lots of information and great people here. |
No worries about your Oshawa trips, that is exactly why I tossed it out there... If you've got a few people in mind to drop by, then we could start to plan a few weeks out and hopefully other YTT folks will join us. There is a cute stretch of stores in Port Credit village where Highway 10 meets the lakeshore. We can also head south to the lake front. Looking forward to setting something up! |
If a get-together ever happens a little north of Toronto - I'd LOVE to join in and meet other YTers!! I live in Barrie but don't mind driving to Toronto northend. :D |
Hi Gardeness! If we can get enough people interested in this, we will have to come up with a location convenient to everyone. Barrie is quite a drive!! |
Hi Linda, Anywhere in the northend of Toronto would be great too! I don't expect everyone (anyone? :D) to drive to Barrie. You're right, it is quite a drive and I do it everyday to work in Toronto - gah! ;) |
I'd definitely be interested. I'm in Oakville, so if something gets planned in the oakville/mississauga/burlington ish area, keep me posted! :) |
GTA meet I live in Ajax and would prefer Toronto so I can take the GO train into town. Anyone going to Woofstock this weekend. I just saw that this Animal Housecalls on CP24 is on this weekend Front Street. This will have all breeds of dogs and you may have to carry your littles guys and girls. Lotsof vendors will be present. Try WOOFSTOCK ::: The Largest Festival For Dogs In North America ::: www.woofstock.ca ::: for more info. |
I'd love to meet everyone else too. I am glad there are more Yorkietalkers in this area now. Keep me posted as I might be travelling overseas soon depending on my future job if it happens and where is the place as I need to arrange for transportation. I am from Burlington. |
Looks like the next step is for yorkie moms to suggest some dates.... Xiju? Princess Sara? Potter? Roseanderson? I am available both saturdays and sundays for the next few weekends... |
I am from Windsor and would love to meet up with some fellow Ontarians (SP?)! |
GTA meet Most weekends for now are free for me so if a date is picked most likely it will be okay but depend on the meeting location. |
Sad to see that this idea phased out :-( |
GTA meet Can someone suggest a place that would be a good place to meet and a date and let's see who can make it. I hate to see this cancelled. I like the Lakeshore or even Port Credit not sure where this is. But let's get it on. |

Yes, let's try to get something going. Saturdays are not good for me but any Sunday is. What about Sunday, July 6? Ok, now for where. I'm not familiar with the Port Credit, Lakeshore area but I do think we need to find a park. There must be one on Lake Ontario somewhere along that stretch. I'll go into Google and see what I can find. |
There is a 104 acre park called Lakefront Promenade Park. It is located at 800 Lakefront Promenade, off of Lakeshore Road, east of Cawthra. It offers good facilities, 3 comfort stations and even a licensed patio! LOL I haven't been there but from the info on the web site it looks quite pleasant and big enough that we could have our own area. I will go and check it out if anybody is interested. /www.mississauga.ca/portal/discover/parksandgardens?paf_gear_id=9700018&itemId=300020 |

LETS MEET :animal36 Saturdays & fridays are best There are dog parks and lakeshore in the mississauga lakeshore area, good place to meet :) We better do it before the warm weather leaves... |
I am interested. Any day works for me right now. My furbaby is suppoed to be neutered Aug 22 so that weekend probably will not work for me. The park suggested sounds good I will need to find on a GPS. |
We should try to meet up again....would love to meet all of you and your little ones :animal36 |
I don't mind when it warms up abit......but it will have to be weekends only as I am back to work...... |
It would be great if we could all get together!! I am in Windsor and I am not familiar with the GTA..but...have Yorkie...willing to travel!! LOL |
Getting closer to a meet up I actually suggested this in another forum. I had suggested High Park...but, would be willing to meet up in Port Credit if thats where it ends up being held. I think Sunday's would work better for most people....I guess lets start by throwing some dates out to see whos available. Sunday July 5th or 12th?? |
